Hello, this post is dedicated to a spanish cult movie of 1995: El D�a de la Bestia (The Day of the Beast).

This movie is a masterpiece of spanish cinematography of black humor, here I present a small overview:

The story revolves around a Basque Roman Catholic priest dedicated to committing as many sins as possible (Angulo), a death metal salesman from Carabanchel (Segura), and the Italian host of a TV show on the occult (De Razza). These go on a literal "trip" through Christmas-time Madrid to hunt for and prevent the reincarnation of the Antichrist.

There exists the original soundtrack that contains songs used in the movie. The original orchestral music for the film was composed by Battista Lena, however none of his pieces were included in the soundtrack. As you can read on the cover, the disk is the "first Satanic themes selected by �lex de la Iglesia compilation", and only two of the tracks that includes can be heard in the film: El D�a de la Bestia of Def Con Dos and Apocalipsis 25D of Ktulu. If it is true that other themes were composed specifically for the soundtrack, as El D�a de la Bestia of Extremoduro and Albert Pla or a remixed version of the theme of Def Con Dos.

Well, that is with respect to the original soundtrack, but what about the music of Battista Lena that was not edited? The answer is that until now it has not been published, it's a shame, because the score have great themes loaded with force, malice, madness and humor.

In this post I present for the first time in this shrine, the inedit soundtrack composed by Battista Lena. Some time ago I published this work in another forum in spanish, now I share this edition with you. As all the unreleased soundtracks I get by editing myself, what I want is to tell the story of the film, trying to clean the music of sounds and dialogues. In this case, I can assure you that I have done a good job and even I have increased the strength of some sound effects giving more character to the music. In particular I love the work that I did with this inedit score. No more to say, I leave you with the unreleased background music from The Day of the Beast.
