The Concert

Composed and Conducted by John Barry



This is a compilation of concert arrangements from some of John Barry film music works. It is a CD reissue of the LP edition, but this time added with four bonus tracks.

The highlight of the album is 'The James Bond Suite'. It is an eighteen minutes continuous piece, that features his most famous themes composed for the James Bond movies, which in the suite are shown in this order of appearance: Goldfinger, The James Bond Theme, From Russia with Love, Thunderball, 007 Theme, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service and concluding with Diamonds Are Forever.

Apart of the Bond suite there are more 9 tracks. This is the full tracklist:

Thanks for the extra Bondage Sanico. Strange that the only place the original master tapes could be found was in Tokyo! The Japanese obviously appreciate the long-term value of preserving music more than the West.

I don't know. The booklet says 'John Barry Conducts the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra' only.

I guess that's a different orchestra than the BBC Concert Orchestra?
