Since we're celebrating the release of Heroes 6, I think it's a good thing to get back to the roots. I was planning to upload this for some time and here it is: a soundtrack for Heroes 1 in 100% lossless format, ripped from the game's audio CD.
As with the soundtrack for Heroes 2, I've kept the titles and track order from the gog.com downloadable soundtrack with the only difference of artist's name (changing Paul Romero, Rob King into much more musicbrainz appropriate Paul Romero & Rob King). I have also added all four battle themes and win/lose melodies since gog soundtrack has got only 8 tracks. Terrain melodies were skipped as they feature some really background melodies and ambient terrain sounds in the foreground. For these tracks I've applied the gog titling convention.
So, not to keep you waiting any more, here's the soundtrack:

Track listing:
#01 Heroes I Barbarian (Theme for Louis XIV)
#02 Heroes I Title
#03 Heroes I Knight
#04 Heroes I Sorceress
#05 Heroes I Win
#06 Heroes I Busy
#07 Heroes I Warlock
#08 Heroes I Campaign
#09 Heroes I Battle Won
#10 Heroes I Battle (1)
#11 Heroes I Battle (2)
#12 Heroes I Battle (3)
#13 Heroes I Battle (4)
#14 Heroes I Battle Lost

I hope you'll enjoy it :)
BTW, I came across quite rare soundtrack for HoMM3 that was added to the polish release of Shadow of Death, all in lossless format (although quite poorly done lossless wma). Still, the source for this soundtrack were evidentially amplified game folder's mp3s, thus having no difference in quality.
I've converted them to proper CDDA flac tracks and if anyone wants them, I can upload it.
Cheers
