vanity project?

never heard of Green Hornet till I saw the trailer so didnt expect much nor will I see it. Dont watch movies in theaters anymore except on the very rare occasion cuz movies these days just suck. No wonder why nowadays u see franchise reboots, superhero/videogame movies, remakes.....cuz movies that DON'T fall under these categories & 99% movies that do.....just suck BIG TIME IMHO!

idk if this has anything to do wit hit but considering they had to use the Dangerous Minds (1995) trailer music 4 Green Hornet trailer would maybe tell u how much they cared. feel band 4 the people who have to work on a movie with a bad story or promote a movie they couldnt care less about as a result of signing contracts saying they have to.

@moontrekker: mediafire doesnt have waiting times for free users. idk what other site has this function. problem with MF from my personal experience.....links die fast. multiupload is pretty good as links last long there & u have different download sites to choose from where u click the link to that particular site & just download from there.

vanity project?

I mean, it's clear this project was undermined by some big egos. Seth Rogen is a funny guy, but one gets the feeling he overestimated himself, putting himself in a situation where he's the star and writer of a superhero tentpole movie. By all accounts (I'm not going to put down ten bones to see this thing in theaters) the movie is poorly plotted and sloppily pieced together, sure signs of someone trying to tackle a story/genre that they have no business doing. Rogen and his collaborator Evan Goldberg were clearly the creative masterminds of this project, and they clearly needed to step down and hand this material to someone who knows how to script this kind of movie.

That is all based on what I've read of the picture's production history and on comments Rogen and Goldberg themselves have made about working on it. I like the guy, but in this case I have to admit that he probably bit off more than he could chew. Hopefully, he'll learn from this mistake and move on to better stuff.

^ No. I really wanted to like this movie but I'm afraid I have to agree with Williamtaylor1969's review of the film. Seth Rogen just plain ruined the film for me. His performance as Britt Reid was overbearing and bombastic. He was shouting in nearly every scene, there were too many lame jokes, even the serious moments in the film were ruined because of Rogen being obnoxious. We didn't get to hear much of James Newton Howard's score because it was muted by sound effects and the horrible soundtrack. The theme song does appear for thirty seconds at the end of the movie but is interrupted by another lame Rogen joke. I hear a sequel is pretty much green lit already, I won't be watching it unless Rogen tones himself down and I know he won't.

i never really heard of Hornet till I saw the poster for this film. Then I googled it & read a wikipedia article finding out he was a superhero.

On a more happier note for superhero films: Iron Man 3, Avengers, Thor, Hulk 2 (gotta happen cuz of the ending to the 1st one), Captain America. TDK Rises (conclusion of Nolan's trilogy). After TDK Rises, Nolan is moving right to the Superman reboot & will hopefully restore some legit you know what into the franchise like he did with Batman. I will always love the Christopher Reeve films (yes even the critically panned 4th film). ONLY thing I HATED about that was Lois Lane. WAY TOO MUCH OVER ACTING FOR ME LOL!!!

---------- Post added at 02:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:55 PM ----------

sad thing.....Spiderman reboot. I thought Tobey was a great Spiderman. Kirsten was a perfect MJ (in terms of looks above everything else). Idk why Raimi left but idk about the new cast. I'm not gonna say just yet that it'll suck. But just wish the old cast/crew stayed.
