Great work Moriya! 😉
Thanks for crediting me ;)!
On a sidenote,is it just me,or were you also working on a Sigma rip?
As for NG2 itself, it’s good… but it’s not as good as the original. The combat itself is more visceral and arguably more fun because of it, but the level design isn’t as good, and rather than one large, cohesive world, it’s a bunch of linear stages. NG2 contains none of the adventure game elements from the original, and is pretty much balls-to-the-wall action from start to finish. Some may prefer that; I did not. The game also manages to be both easier and harder at the same time… easier with the new health system, but harder because the game throws so much at you, all of it just as aggressive as ever. And the camera is actually worse than the original. While NG1’s camera featured minimal AI, and would shift slightly to show enemies as you approached (or they approached you), NG2’s is completely dumb, and must be manipulated by the player at all times. This also leads into another issue with the level design: cheap shots. There are quite a few instances where an enemy will ambush you just as you round a corner or go through a doorway, and the only way to avoid it is to know it’s coming and prepare ahead of time. Definitely not like NG1, where you could generally see any foe in time to defend on reaction.
I’m hoping Sigma 2 will alleviate these issues, since Sigma 1 made some nice changes to adjust the overall balance of the game.
Speaking of Sigma, from what I understand,it’s basically Super Ninja Gaiden New Challengers Alpha World Warrior X,right? The question is,does it have all the content that was present in Black? Because if it does,I can safely cross NGB off my to-get list (and I’ll do it with pleasure, too – that bastard is still kind of pricey).
You can watch the trailer for it here (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/47115.html). Lots of major new additions, PS3 only.
The question is,does it have all the content that was present in Black? Because if it does,I can safely cross NGB off my to-get list (and I’ll do it with pleasure, too – that bastard is still kind of pricey).
NGB is pricey? It retailed for $30 at release… at any rate, Sigma basically differs in the following ways:
1. Dragon’s Claw & Tiger’s Fang – Dual katana weapon. Also has the Lunar staff from NGB.
2. 19 new music tracks interspersed throughout the game.
3. Three (I think) chapters, in which you play as Rachel, and explore her activities during the game at various points. She uses the War Hammer as her only weapon, but she has some very handy abilities to make up for this deficit. She also gets a special boss fight against Gamov, and some of the stuff fills in a couple of story gaps.
4. There are no longer any emulated bonuses (the SNES trilogy in the original, the arcade for Black) included. This may or may not bother you.
5. Bigger mission mode, with some for-pay DLC available.
6. Some of the game’s puzzle elements have been stripped down, or removed entirely. The sliding platforms puzzle from later in the game is no longer a requirement (but still offers bonuses to those who wish to do it), and the cavern with the flamethrowers in the wall has been removed and replaced with a considerably more straightforward section. The pyramid puzzle is replaced by a battle with three exclusive new enemies. The crate room in the airship is replaced by a challenge battle for bonus items, etc.
7. The Hayabusa Village has been expanded, and allows you to explore more.
8. Of course, HD graphics.
Sigma 2 has a few major additions:
1. Two new playable characters: Ayane and Momiji (the girl from Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword)
2. Online cooperative play.
3. At least two new boss fights are shown in the trailer.
4. At least one new weapon.
There will likely be any number of other, smaller changes as well.
You have to consider that I’m a very cheap bastard. =) Also,I’ve never seen a copy of Black for less than 20$ (usually 24$),not even used. But anyway, thanks for the rundown. =)
4. There are no longer any emulated bonuses (the SNES trilogy in the original, the arcade for Black) included. This may or may not bother you.
Now this is a shame.
Your eBay-fu is weak. (http://cgi.ebay.com/Ninja-Gaiden-Black-Xbox_W0QQitemZ200340336376QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo _Games_Games?hash=item2ea536eef8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1234%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50)
Now this is a shame.
It’s not that much of an issue, really. The SNES ports sucked, and the arcade game is very "meh."
Sure is,but that’s because I don’t use it that much. I’m more of a bargain bin spelunker,a garage sale connosieur,a used games aisle raider,if you will. =)) Hunting for actual physical games is a lot more satisfying than worrying over fucking eBay snipers,at least for me.
In any case,Gamestop seems to be getting rid of their Xbox stock,so I might very well get lucky. =)
It’s not that much of an issue, really. The SNES ports sucked, and the arcade game is very "meh.
Still,it’s more of an issue of getting the most complete, definitive version of the game possible. When they take stuff out like that,it’s irritating to completionists like me.
The SNES ports sucked.
Amen to that. Don’t get me started on Trilogy. It’s a poster child for wasted potential.

Enjoy, and comment!
I have preordered the collector edition !!! ^_-
I have preordered the collector edition !!! ^_-
If all goes according to plan, I will soon be able to (finally) finish the digital NG Sigma rip, and do one for Sigma 2 as well.
Can be found in this (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showpost.php?p=1241886&postcount=132) rip.
Can be found in this (Thread 65596) rip, too. ;P
And wow,I guess Team Ninja hates looping tracks or something. That was my major gripe about the original NG OST,too. Eventually I just said "fuck it" and looped the whole thing myself. =)
Thanks for your effort in compiling these soundtracks. I was wondering did you have any plan to release a lossless version of the Ninja Gaiden II Fan Soundtrack.
Also, any word ont he Ninja Gaiden Sigma Fan Sountrack that you had planned from last year? I want to get my hands on that Sigma Murai first battle track. It’s excellent 🙂
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Oops. Forgot to rename that one. Thanks. I’ve updated the original post’s notes.
I was wondering did you have any plan to release a lossless version of the Ninja Gaiden II Fan Soundtrack.
I can. I hadn’t really planned around it, but I’ve still got the source WAV files to FLACify. I’ll see what I can scare up.

It got stalled, due to my sudden lack of access to my means of digitally recording PS3 audio. I did get a chance to resume soon, though. In the meantime, I did get six of the tracks done and ready for upload, but I didn’t want to put up anything partial. Which track was it you wanted; do you recall the name?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best way to get in my good graces, right here. Good grammar and old-fashioned politeness. http://forums.ffshrine.org/images/icons/icon14.gif
I second the request for a lossless version of the Ninja Gaiden II Fan Soundtrack. It’s such an awesome OST. It’s the best one this gen in my opinion.
We have both games, but the Sigma 2 in-game playlist is not the same as NG2’s. NG2’s playlist was perfect to me. For example, the song Blood of the Dragon does not play in Chapter 2 when you get closer to the Hayabusa Shrine. They put Crimson Rhapsody there, which does not fit that area as well based on the context. Little issues like that are scattered throughout the game. But anyway, that is all personal preference.
I will forever appreciate a lossless NGII Fan OST. Thanks for what you have done already, Moriya. I love this place.
Also, I need opinions. When the NGS2 fan soundtrack is released, I’ve come up with a concept for the cover image. I’d like opinions.
I’m not the guy who requested it, but I’ve been looking for a rip of NGS1’s Chapter 5 background music, where you play as Rachel.
Edit: It’s called Resident of the Dark in the sound test menu. And God Bless U doesn’t sound all that bad either.

Hello again MoriyaMug.
Thanks for giving us hope on a FLAC version for the NGII Fan OST. As far as the Murai boss track from Sigma 1. It is entitled ‘Confrontation’. It is the 7th track within the Sound Test. If you recall it’s the song that is played on Chapter 1 versus Murai.
Oh and those cover images for NGS2 Fan OST are both decent, but I think the first one is slightly cooler with the game logo on it. You made those covers yourself? If so, that is impressive. Both look very professional.
Sorry again to sound like a broken record, but thank you again for your effort in getting us these soundtracks. Being a huge game OST fan myself, I know the toil it takes in ripping audio from digital sources along with the post-production.
I don’t have a comprehensive list of the musical changes from NG1 to NGS. But I just checked, and that’s not one of the ones I managed to get done. Sorry. :/
On a brighter note, I should be able to complete the NGS1 and NGS2 digital rips within the next month.

Yeah, I made them. I’m kinda partial to the one without the NG logo, though. Maybe it’s a little pretentious, but I kind of like the "Σ2" by itself.

No problem. The old NES Ninja Gaiden games, along with the Ys series, were what got me into game music. In fact, I was one of the two who found the NG2 "Musicruise" sound test and got it published in Nintendo Power. 😀 Though I’m disappointed that the 3D games didn’t include anything of note in the way of remixes from the NES titles, I’m still happy with the quality that Team Ninja’s composers have produced.
Holy crap.
I guess all of us owe our thanks to you, man. =) How the hell did you even manage to find it?
In the game under soundtest all the songs from 60-65 are new and there is this song called "The Magic Night" and the other is "Evil Spirit March ~ Sigma Mix"
The first 1 is when u fight the statue of liberty, and the other is when u fight Marbus.
I guess all of us owe our thanks to you, man. =) How the hell did you even manage to find it?
My friend was tinkering with it, and he came rushing over to my house when he found the first one, since the code is the same as for NG1, except the joystick position is different. The second one we found by accident, from pressing the start button twice. The final Musicruise one, I found by missing the timing on the first one, then pressing start twice when the title screen was fading. That one blew my mind, and I was absolutely enthralled by the fact that the music had titles.
As for the missing Sigma 1 and 2 tracks, those will be coming as soon as I can get them. Three of Sigma 2’s new tracks are on the LE soundtrack. The other three are The Magic Knight, Jintsuriki (Sigma Mix) and Evil Spirit March (Sigma Mix).
Jintsuriki means "Supernatural Power," btw.
Really looking forward to the Sigma 1 release.
Just downloaded the soundtrack. It’s absolutely wonderful, already got it on the iPod. Great quality.
Thanks again MoriyaMug.
So that explains why I can’t find the track that plays when Momiji fights the Tengu Brothers….
So lame.
*hopes someone rips it*
sup
NG Sigma has about 19 original/exclusive tracks. When I can, I’m planning to finish getting a digital/optical line out rip of these from the sound test (right now, I only have six of them). NG Sigma 2 only added six new tracks to the original game (one of which was a remix of Evil Spirit March from NG1).
For starters, I dunno what Sigma Team’s deal is recently… they really couldn’t double check their own track listing? Another thing; One disc… really? If they just had to limit the track listing that much, the least they could have done was instead of those "bonus tracks" I.E. tracks from Ninja Gaiden ONE, they could have given us.. oh I dunno.. Profilteration and Appairation instead?
Jeez, maybe if they would pony up a second disc, they would have had space for decent loops for a few of these tracks, not to mention the other half of the soundtrack.
It wouldn’t have hurt for them to sell this soundtrack as a standalone product instead of bundling it with the huge Sigma package. It takes them this long to finally give us any soundtrack release for NGII, and this is what we get?
"Oh no, let’s not give them a two disc soundtrack again, that’s just asking too much…"
Tecmo.
What. The. Fuck.
MoriyaMug, I will be patiently awaiting your rips, good sir. Regardless of personal time and resource restraints, you seem to have your shit together, more so than Tecmo does at the moment.
I’ve waited this long for an official release, I don’t see the harm in waiting for the other good half…
Thank you again, keep up the good work!
Come on doggies, somebody hook this shit up!
I don’t see where the hell my post went from so many months ago. 🙁 But it was a lot stuff about THANKS. 🙂
For the work did in getting a lossless rip of this soundtrack uploaded, I can not express my gratitude enough. The quality is outstanding. My appreciation for this is more than you will ever know. This OST is just that damn great.
I earned all 1250 achievement points for NGII already, but I will use a custom playlist for Mission Mode any time I play it for fun from now on.
Thank you so much kind sir, and anyone who contributed. 🙂
Great! I’ve been looking forward to a good Sigma 1 rip for a long time now. Hoping you see fit to release a lossless version as well!
Nice upload. 😀 Will download it soon.
Sigma’s soundtrack is the Xbox version’s music with some remixes, alterations, and new tracks.
Fuga
Sense of Mission
El Diablo
Evil Spirit March (Sigma Mix)
Jintsuriki
The Magic Night
The first three are on the "official soundtrack" that Tecmo put out with the US LE package, but the other three have never seen any form of distribution. Unfortunately, NGS2’s new engine includes a different audio compression scheme, using a headerless ATRAC. I don’t know much of anything about ATRAC, myself, so I’m at a loss for how to rip it.
Thanks a lot. A clean rip and lossless encode of Resident of the Dark and 11 has been well worth the long wait.
Fuga
Sense of Mission
El Diablo
Evil Spirit March (Sigma Mix)
Jintsuriki
The Magic Night
What about Red,Path of the Ninja,Time for the New Beginning and The Hero? Or were they reused from the first Sigma?
Well, Time for the New Beginning was one I only ever saw in the official soundtrack CD/
Red and Path of the Ninja, I’ll have to re-verify.
Time for the New Beginning – only ever saw this one on the official soundtrack CD
The Hero – part of NG2, track 45 in the fan soundtrack
BUMP
Hello again MoriyaMug.
Thank you taking the time to fulfill all our requests. We all very much appreciate the time and attention you put into these.
Thank you so much.
DERP
How the fuck did I miss that? Thanks, man. =)
Time for the New Beginning – only ever saw this one on the official soundtrack CD
So,its not present in the actual game?
That’s strange.
Any word on Red and Path of the Ninja?
I’m also compiling a proper FLAC rip of the NG1 OST CDs. The files are done, but I’m working on tagging and I want to make new scans of the covers.
Any word on Red and Path of the Ninja?
"Red" as listed on the cardboard sleeve (track 17) is actually "Twisted Shadows" (track 16 on the Fan Soundtrack).
If you account for the tracklist offset, the actual "Red" is "Deadly Conflict" (track 49 on the Fan Soundtrack).
"Path of the Ninja" as listed on the cardboard sleeve (track 28) is actually "Dark Aura" (track 10 on the Fan Soundtrack).
If you account for the tracklist offset, the actual "Path of the Ninja" is "Limitless Power" (track 48 on the Fan Soundtrack).
The Fan Soundtrack uses solely the titles from the in-game soundtest. I’ve no idea where these new titles came from.
If you account for the tracklist offset, the actual "Path of the Ninja" is "Limitless Power" (track 48 on the Fan Soundtrack).

Hi – registered just because of this thread…could someone please post the ninja gaiden sigma soundtrack rip? I’ve been looking all over the net for one (I finished the game a few months ago – and I thought the music in the game was awesome).
Thank you!
You’re the only person that has ever posted this in lossless – a lot of users have been after this for a long time now – so would be greatly appreciated if you could share. This isn’t available on any other sharing site/torrent community. You could even upload the discs in instalments if that is more convenient (less of a hassle) for you?
Hopefully, for the many who missed the original post – we can all see this soundtrack here again. Thank you.
you rock dude.. it’s most appreciated if you do re-upload NG OST FLAC

Thanks again for this, much appreciated!

Sadly I have torrent with it, stuck at 95% for….. a lot of months.
And for others too ;D
Hey, it’s been a while but I finally figured out how to convert .xwb/.xma sounds to regular audio formats so the NG2 OST will be re-uploaded by me and I’ll get to 3RE and NGB gamerips soon! Here’s a guide since you wanted to get the sfx from the game yourself.
I know it has already been done but could you re-up ninja gaiden 1 and maybe 2 in flac.
The links seems to be down. Thanks
