Since February, I have been playing through all the numbered Final Fantasys since I have never played them before. I started with Dawn of Souls and just yesterday I beat FFIIIDS. The problem? FFIVDS doesn't come out for another month. So what should I do until then? Some possible ideas:
-Play through the original FFIII.
-Get some of the extras, like Onion Knight and stuff.
-Play through Soul of Rebirth
-Try to beat FFV Advance before July 22nd.
-Play a completely unrelated RPG until then, like Star Ocean or Tales of Phantasia.

Get resident evil 4. Play it, love it. Or. Have you full completed XII ? All the hunts etc? If not, then I'd recommend that.

Also, noskillbassist, your contribution was well thought out

I already have it.

As I said in the OP, I have not played any numbered Final Fantasys other than the first three. And I am trying to do them in order
Any better suggestions?

1. Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia
2. Beat FFV and FFVI
3. Beat FFVII, VIII, and IX on a PS1 emulator
4. Do FFXII
5. DooM3
6. Half-Life 2
7. Oblivion

Don't do this either. Play a real man's Strategy game like the original Final Fantasy Tactics, do that, and then carry on with the order.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions I give a 10/10 score to, you can try that game also! :D

Yeah, I've already decided to play through the original FFIII. I'm just beat Hyne, so I should be able to complete it before 07/22/08.

Nice choice! Did you beat FF I and FF II for PSP? Are you getting FF IV for DS?

Get IV on an emulator?

Didn't they do a ps1 version of IV in America?
I was sure that they did!

I played I and II on the GBA, and I'm planning on playing IV for the DS, V for the GBA, and VI for the SNES.

V for the GBA was definitely worth it. One third through it on my second playthrough now.

And yes, there was a North American PSOne FFIV port. Look up Final Fantasy Chronicles (the other game it bundles with, Chrono Trigger, is also an excellent game and also definitely deserves a playthrough if you do intend on hunting down the port).
