Hi everyone
Can someone please help me? I'm trying to make a compliation of all the instrumental / orchestral pieces of Final Fantasy music. I know about the live concerts. There are some songs which used a live orchestra on albums which are mainly electronic / midi or sing songs. Can you please help me find any live orchestra songs which are hidden away on albums?
Thanks
C

Hey, how come no one writes to me on this? Dont people like Final Fantasy music? I thought the orchestral music for FF was popular? No? Such as One Winged Angel?

Preety much every FF Arrangement album? For example FF4 Celtic Moon, FF5 Dear Friends, FF8 Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec etc.? I think they all use live orchestras.

List:
- Final Fantasy IV Celtic Moon
- Final Fantasy V Dear Friends
- Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale
- Final Fantasy VII Reunion Tracks (last 3 tracks on the album I think)
- Final Fantasy VIII Fithos Luces Wecos Vinosec

From FFVIII, the practice of making orchestral arrangements vanished.

Celtic Moon and Dear Friends is not with live orchestra. And there is the (fabulous) Final Fantasy Symphonic Suite with music from the first two games in the series, superbly orchestrated by father and son Hattori.

The Final Fantasy IX OST Plus album is mostly orchestrated. And there's the orchestrated Final Fantasy on the Orchestral Game Concert series of CDs. Also superbly orchestrated.

There is an orchestral version of Suteki da Ne on the Final Fantasy X OST as well as the orchestrated ending theme on the same album. The last three tracks on the Final Fantasy X-2 soundtrack is orchestrated, and the Opening Theme from Final Fantasy XI. Opening Movie from Final Fantasy XII is also orchestrated.

And then there's the concerts, 20020220, Dear Friends, More Friends, and Tour de Japon.

I think that's all.

I have:

Final Fantasy: Tour de Japan
Final Fantasy: 20020220
Final Fantasy: Dear Friends 2005
Final Fantasy: More Friends
*special Japanese version of song of Aria De Mezzo Careterre (live)*
FFVII: Reunion Tracks

*this is irrelevant to the orchestral, but did anyone know that there is a hidden single for Final Fantasy X-2, by the group Sweetbox. I have it if anyone is interested. It includes, "Liberty," "Miss You" "1000 Words (Original Mix)" and "Real Emotion (Original Mix)" It's 16 tracks, if anyone's interested.

There are a small handful of people that do their own game orchestrations such as Patrick Waters (who has contributed to RPGamer.com's sound section immensely with his beautiful symphonic sections of Lufia and FF games) and Jeremy Robinson (whose FF7 suite sections even rival some of Uematu's compositions).

If I find the link for Jeremy, I'll post it. If not, you shouldn't have much trouble doing a search for "Jeremy Robinson" + "Final Fantasy 7"

I would like to say thats it. But the soundtrack came out around the time the Final Fantasy VIII Orchestrated soundtrack came out. Its like how they did the Final Fantasy VI Orchestrated soundtrack and Chrono Trigger Suit.

Its not the Piano Sessions, or the Reunion Soundtrack, it was a soundtrack on its own. Some of the orchestrated music from the Reunion Soundtrack was from that. AC is its own so its not that. I know its out there some where. I have witness's that have seen it too. I'm still looking for it. I know I'll find it.

Thanks for all the help though. I appreciate it.

It's done by Jeremy Robinson. In the 'Comments' section of any of the tracks, there are these websites:

http://www.ocremix.org
http://slyph.org/
http://jeremy.narphonax.com

OC Remix has been around for a while and has a variety of really good, downloadable tracks. It mainly has remixes of a LOT of games, but has a few orchestrations lying here and there.

Sylph has many orchestrated tracks from Final Fantasy and other games.

The third site no longer works for reasons unknown.
