first off let me just say this thread is probably going to start a major argument over who cloud loves, just like all the similar threads do.

it never will actually say who cloud really loved, each game is different based on the view of the person playing it, some see it obvious that he loves aeris, some see it obvious he loves tifa, hell even some see it obvious that he loves barett. no one can provide solid evidence as to who he loved other than the storyline people at square.

i think aeris was wanting to get funky with cloud but i think tifa had the same idea. i dont really know but i think tifa would have suited cloud

I cant see that, they never had a relationship to start with and always seemed more like friends than lovers, they never had any real moments suggesting their passion for each other or anything in relation.

has no one seen advent children yet? all Cloud does is look for forgiveness from Aeris etc. He barely ever even looks at Tifa and doesnt even answer her calls... Then again it could be something like Zacks feelings coming through Cloud because Aeris is already dead when Cloud realises his past etc... Then again maybe Square did this whole love triangle on purpose for people to have their own oppinions and ideas about Cloud's love life, then again thats just my oppinion...

i think tifa and cloud suited most. i find itsafd how they grew up in nebielhem and never got2gether. i thnk areis was like the 'key' if u like to cloud. i thnk he liked ares but didnt wana get2close bcos hes bodyguard. but feelings took over hence non forgivness & guilt.

Okay, I never venture into the FF sections of this site but upon seeing this thread for, oh the thousandth time or so (and I mean that literally), I felt I should post my two cents worth on the subject. This is a game that is eight years old for Gawd's sake, why bother posting this thread, especially when it has been made countless times before. Does it really matter if cloud was meant for Tifa or Aeris, *spoiler warning* because after all, Aeris dies and no amount of arguing is going to change that basic fact. Finally, where does this drivel Aerith come from? The commonly accepted fact is that it was originally Aerith in Japan and after translation became the incorrect Aeris. Even so, presuming that the vast majority of users on this site are of European, Australian and United States descent, why would you call her Aerith? In my book it's wrong and a conciously made spelling error. Also, I'm ignoring Kingdom Hearts becaus it's a different game in a different franchise.

I think we see the same types of threads every 6 months...when one bunch of new members come in, make the threads, leave, then a new bunch come in after the topic has long left the first page.

Even if he did, who hasn't gotten over there first crush?? yea, so what she was a year older than him? isn't cloud a year older then tifa??? like ewwww to dat!!! Don't forget, Aeris was the only one who cloud open up to. Why do you think when she died it brought cloud to tears? True love is only when that same person can open up to you without any force and that they know there always there for each other without any doubt. Um yeah this is one of those things you COULD view any way you liked, but i thought it was fairly obvious throughout most of the game he loved aeris. I mean after tifa was hurt in his flashback of nibbleheim (sliced by sephiroth in reactor) he didnt get all wussy and upset. Yet when aeris was killed he says something like

'my fingers are tingling, my eyes are burning... what about my pain' etc etc

a much stronger reaction wouldnt you say?

WTF? dont take things too literaly, i was saying he took over a sizeable portion of Zacks past and made it his own. Then when Zack died he said he would live out their dreams for the both of them (advent children). I'll type it in very easy sentences next time.

Zack = Deserves to be with Aeris. Cloud = Should be with tifa.
