The movie was produced and directed by Raoul Walsh and starred by Van Heflin, Aldo Ray, James Whitmore, Tab Hunter, Anne Francis, Dorothy Malone, Raymond Massey, and Mona Freeman.
Max Steiner's musical score earned him an Oscar nomination.
