Hey guys,
Here's the new music for FFXIV Patch 4.5: A Requiem for Heroes. There's 25 tracks in total, however all but 8 of them are songs that were used in either Final Fantasy Tactics (used in the new Orbonne Monastery raid) or from Final Fantasy XI. (unknown where they're used yet, speculated to maybe be used in the new Eureka zone releasing later)
The new tracks include:
2 unnamed tracks - They sound like fanfares for winning and losing. The theme has a chocobo sound to it, but they are introducing a new mini-game (Mahjong) so it remains to be seen if those tunes are for that, or if they snuck in some new tunes for chocobo racing.
"A Man Consumed" - Listed in the data files to come from Orbonne Monastery, (the new 24 man raid) but it sounds like an original track not common to FFT.
"A Pall Most Murderous" - New song for the Ghimlyt Dark dungeon.
"Doman Distractions" - New song, unsure of its origins yet.
"From the Dragon's Wake" - New song for Seiryuu.
"Oblivion (GUNN Vocals)" - An alternative version of Oblivion with different vocals. (Shiva's theme)
"bgm_orch_254" - An unnamed track that was used during the Starlight Celebration. It is the choral track used during the mini-game. (This track was actually pre-4.5, but I didn't do any song ripping for sub patches between 4.4 and 4.5)
They also appeared to bring back some tracks from 1.0 ("Horizon's Calling", "Imperium", "Nail of the Heavens") but I'm unsure as of where they're going to use those yet.

Horizons Calling was already in the game though (it was added back in ARR as the theme for Hullbreaker Isle), so this new version might be for an Orchestrion roll.
As for the choral track used during the Starlight Celebration, that was called 'Starlight, Starbright' on the Orchestrion in game so that would be it's actual title.
And the 'victory'/'losing' tracks may be either for that new GATE in Gold Saucer ('Air Force One') or the new Doman Mahjong minigame.
Either way, thank you so much for posting this as usual Orophin! (Especially the track for Ghimlyt Dark - I've been awaiting this since hearing it in the trailer). :D
Edit: A Man Consumed is actually the final boss theme from Vagrant Story (which of course has been retconned as an Ivalice game, despite not originally being part of the FF series). So that's why it has FFT vibes. ;)

Thanks for the updates. I completely forgot about Vagrant Story! (I never played it) I have that OST but I guess the track it took inspiration from has a different name, since I couldn't find it when I was searching.
And yeah, it's been so long since I've done Hullbreaker that I forgot they used Horizon's Calling for that.

Doman Distractions is for Mahjong, but I believe it only plays during player matches and not during NPC matches. Admittedly I've only done one NPC match, at the lowest difficulty, but it used Game Theory. I've heard Doman Distractions used for PvP Mahjong in livestreams though.
The Chocobo victory fanfare is for Air Force One. I'd assume the loss fanfare is as well but so far I haven't done poorly enough in it to get it.
I believe the instrumental for "Starlight, Starbright" was put into the game in patch 4.4, correct?
On another note, I've been digging around the game files but I haven't been able to find the outro music for the Stormblood Hildibrand quests, the one used at the end of each quest in the preview for the next quest. Any idea where it might be?

I think Starlight, Starbright came in a later patch after 4.4 because I don't remember stumbling across it right as 4.4 came out. I took a break from the game to play Dragon Quest XI and there were patch files for me to download shortly before 4.5 came out, so I'm assuming it was sometime in between 4.4 and 4.5 released.
As for the Hildibrand Outro, since it's not its own music file in the game files it's like buried somewhere with some sound files. Files you can check are 030000 (or 032000 for SB from ex2 folder) or 070000. You'll likely have to extract everything and then look for anything that outputs as an ogg file. If it's not there then I'm not exactly sure how to find it.

Ah, I thought the instrumental was in your 4.4 rip, but I could have been wrong.
As for Hildibrand's SB outro, thanks! I looked in ex2/30200, and after searching for a bit, found it. It's called ~9f5469b_0.wav.
Here's a download link for anyone who wants it:

The .wav may not play on all devices or music programs for whatever reason, so I also included an mp3 conversion.

My guess is it's probably going to be for the final Eureka area when it is released, since there is a lot of throwback to FFXI in it.

They are even using Absolute Virtue for it, no doubt it will be its theme

Just a heads up, there's no "new" music in patch 4.56. There's a FF15 collaboration event coming up so they added some of the tracks from that into the game, but you're better off getting those in a better quality format from any of the other OSTs floating around here. 6 of the tracks from FF15 will be featured as Orchestrion pages.

Aww, I was hoping for some FFXV remixes. They're just the same songs from the XV OST? No changes at all?
I was also hoping for a new song for the new trial, but now that I've actually beat it I understand why it doesn't have one.

I didn't notice any differences between the songs they implanted into FF14 and the songs from the FF15 OST, so no remixes I'm afraid.

The benchmark has a bunch of new music, and since it's a benchmark, there shouldn't be any sfx/voices baked in. Whether or not they're the full tracks or just snippets that change with the scene is yet to be determined. Regardless, I liked what I heard.

Sadly the benchmark tunes are baked into cutscene files and don't pull from a separate music archive. The only thing the index files point to is Hex code for scene loading data and a video archive. There is one other index file that handles inserting the newly created characters in the character creation into the videos. It's otherwise all prerendered. I knew this would be the case from digging around in Stormblood benchmark files but I still dug around for around 2 hours to see if there was anything worth extracting. Thankfully the wait isn't too long!
Sidenote: Some of the music in the benchmark and Job action trailer is from the Arrange album that is coming out June 19 like the KICKASS arrange of eScape. ( Link (

Here are the music files from the benchmark. I grabbed them the same day but didn't know if people would be really interested in them yet, the main reason being that they added the "crystal theme" to the end of each song and that's where the loop points in the source file point to, so I couldn't reliably loop the main songs. Anyway, here are those songs:
