Hi everyone, newbie here. I've looked everywhere for a rip of The Rescuers (not Down Under by Bruce Broughton) soundtrack online but I can't seem to find anything at all, although there was one (very bad mind you) uploaded to YouTube several months ago but it's down now, must have been due to copyright claim from Disney. This place seems like my best bet so I'll ask, does anyone have a rip of The Rescuers by Artie Butler or would be willing to make one? I really love the underscore and I'd love to be able to listen to it, but as far as I can see nobody has ripped it nor do they seem to care about doing so eventually. So yeah, anybody? Really desperate at this point...

There are two thread where you can find rip of this film :

Thread 209159
Thread 79396

Try using the function search next time !

I did try, sorry. Somehow that never came up in any of my searches. But wow, thanks a lot for this, I've wanted to hear this music isolated for so long.

Well, it looks as if he had put his project on hold...

Well, sir, not to burst your bubble, but The Rescuers may not be a thing for a while. I probably should not have even mentioned it in the first post, because, you see, the current rip I have is, er... Not the best. Lingering voices are the greatest problem, and it's because I sourced the rip from my copy of the 2003 DVD, which possesses a horribly muffled and low-quality audio mix, making it nigh impossible to single out the music over the rest of the audio. Of course, I could rip from the Blu-Ray, right? Well, bad news on that front as well; I don't own a Blu-Ray player of any kind, and can't afford one at the moment, as funds are awfully tight. So it will be a while before I can upload a better rip (though I could upload the one I currently have, or at least the better tracks from it, if anyone is desperate to own the score in some form).

But his work on "The Sword in the Stone" is just great! <3

D'oh... You two are much too kind, you know that? Besides, the only reason that rip of "The Sword in the Stone" ended up as well as it did was because of the DVD's generous surround audio mix, not my own ingenuity. Bahaha!

All levity aside, I'll cut to the chase regarding the situation with "The Rescuers."
As previously stated in the other thread, I do in fact have a complete, finalized rip on my hands. Also as stated, however, it's not satisfactory by any stretch of the imagination, unless you don't mind severe lingering voices and sound effects. Granted, there were a handful of instances in which the clean-up process worked perfectly, but, unfortunately, the negative ultimately outweighs the good here.
For the moment, I'm not quite budging on releasing this one, until I acquire the Blu-Ray drive and a copy of the film, and am thus able to create a better rip--which likely will not be for a long time, unless anyone is generous enough to rip the audio for me, like I proposed in the "Sword in the Stone" thread.

On the positive side, I've compiled the best of my current personal rip of Mr. Butler's score and uploaded it to YouTube, as a "soundtrack suite" of sorts. Hopefully this will tide over all of those who wish to hear the score some day. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh4ySjE2yGM)

Dude!! That sounds great! Are you sure you're not going to share the rest of your rip? It can't be that bad, for what it's worth this sounds awesome, and a lot better than the other rips honestly (no offense to the people who made them of course, they're still good efforts!). I mean I see what you mean about the voices, you can hear them in a few places but still. The score from the chase and cave scenes sounds way awesome, I'm so happy to hear a clean version

And about the bluray thing I second what you said, if someone could upload the full movie audio for him I would be grateful too. We've just gotta get this score out there...

i feel a little bad about the DVD not having a good stereo mix, as there are some dvds that have it(some might not, but the dialogue can be heard in all tracks).

However, I remember when I came across this project. I knew it was gonna be hard, with the English track and everything. My best alternative was using the software that I used for this kind of stuff, and using different language tracks. Believe it or not, there'll be some languages where most of the music can be isolated. With what I worked with, I just cleaned up what I could....

The HARDEST part was the track "Penny Searches for The Devil's Eye" since that was the only track that had major sound effects in the front and rear channels. But, I'm glad I got out what I did... I think 99% of my edit is clean.

Bah. What more can I say? These are the highlights, not an accurate representation of the rest of the rip. If you, or anyone else reading, is that desperate to have this rip, so be it. PM me for a download link.

Well, I wouldn't necessarily dub either of them "clean" by any means, especially the latter. That confounded water was horribly difficult to remove in both cases, and, as can be heard in the video, the majority of the splashes and the like were unfortunately irremovable without lowering the audio quality to jarring levels. Speaking of which;

Indeed. Yours is certainly impressive, audio quality aside.
Though I must say, your comments do worry me a little. From what I gather, the Blu-Ray isn't necessarily the most rip-friendly in terms of mixing, is it?

Blu Ray rips are by far THE BEST rips anyone can work on.

I would just save the trouble and say that The Rescuers might not be a clean rip.... lets take Hairspray (2007) for example

I remember wanting to work on a complete rip for this. But, like The Rescuers, the center dialogue can be heard in ALL tracks... some of these dvds just have these problems.

Give up? Oh, pah. It's not as if I'm doing this merely for the community--it's for me too, after all. "The Rescuers" is one of my most sought-after unreleased scores in the history of the art, and there's no way in thunder I'm giving up on it any time soon. Too many times have I succumbed to laziness and abandoned these personal projects to rot. Not this time, I say! I'm making this rip the best it can possibly be, whether it takes 3 months or 3 years, dagnabbit!

And that goes for any other unreleased or incomplete Disney scores as well; Buddy Bakers's "The Fox and the Hound" is likely next up on the fryer, along with "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", and every last one of the package features. Don't quote me on any of those, as they will likely suffer a fate in the same vein as "The Rescuers," but I'm going to put blood, sweat and tears into them, nonetheless.
