I was a little shocked, but on the other side it is more realistic this way. Think about it, how is it in real life? A lot of places are for tourists now, but what happened in these places in the past? These places have a story too.... ;)

true, very true. heh...i was so upset thoguh. i felt like yuna.. hehe

Aerith Gainsborough
01-09-2005, 12:31 AM
Like I said, I was shocked too. But not just about Zanarkand, also the Calm Lands for example. I thought, FF-X was so serious, they were having battles there and everything, and in FF-X2 they just turned everything into tourists places.....people are just having fun and don't think about what happened there in the past. :(

But like I said, it is very realsitic that way. ;)

yea! they shoulda kept them sacred........they did 10 years before....hmm, i gess theres really nothign they can do about it

I must admit that when i first saw all the ppl i thought i was imagining it! then i was like OMG! more shocked that, i was worried about yunas personal feelings cos Zanarkand was a place of reflection and memories and all these ppl r like LA LA lol if u get me. I do agree with Aerith gainsborough about the being realistic, its tru it wud happen in real life.

I was. I was horrifically offend so much that I had to resort to putting an egyptian cuse on Cid's head before I realised that he was a fictional character.

Agent0042

Yeah, they just wanted to do it to get a rise out of us, because it's not like it had anything to do with the plot or anything. You know, I think I'm beginning to see why other people are getting a bit irritated by your constant comments about Square-Enix.

xdistantxdreamerx

I really dont see how an event like that can offend you but diffrent strokes...

But the whole plot in general was about forgetting and refinding the past, so it made sense to put it in the game. I seriously doubt that they put that in the game to get a rise out of the fans, I mean if you get that offended by ppl touring a FICTIONAL town durning a FICTIONAL plot, than you just may be a little too involved in the FF world... *Points to the u know u play too much FF when... You got a point, it's just a fucking GAME, it's not real so you shouldn't act like it is...

I didn't care. I didn't even think of it like that. Things had changed. And I don't see how I could get offended by something that happened in a game.

Hey, if you get that offended by it, in chapter 1 when Cid asks "What? You got a bone to pick?" select "You bet I do!" and in chapter 5 Zanarkand will be tourist free.

Agent0042
01-17-2005, 05:22 PM
Actually, that's not enough. If you want Zanarkand to be tourist-free, you also have to complete the monkey mission. In fact, even if you don't tell Cid off, you can still do that.

Squall_Bahamut

um it isnt a holy place it doesnt exist..........reality check.

Terra Fire
01-17-2005, 06:15 PM
what d'you mean it doesn't exist it exists in the game but not this world.......if thats what you mean but if you mean 'dream of the fayth' kinda thing then it is still real it wasn't a dream (in the game)

That was the hardest mini mission I think. I know you had to match the names, but I always had to talk to a monkey to get its name. But it was a fun mission. hehe

it wasent fun what are you talking about? your crazy? the tourist had the right to be there its not holy anymore!

I think it's ok that they're there..especially if it's no longer a holy place. If it was me I would like to see it...

xdistantxdreamerx
01-23-2005, 03:05 PM
It's still a holy place to Yuna...her and Tidus spent their last moments there. (until they went to Sin)

Agent0042
01-23-2005, 05:20 PM
Yeah, and the game rather gets into that, doesn't it? About how Yuna knows that she can't protect it forever. But until the time comes "I want to protect this place. The monkeys can't do it alone."

xdistantxdreamerx
01-25-2005, 08:49 PM
It was like what Rikku said to CId (I know Zanarkand isn't real, but for a second let;s make belive it was) "It's like making a theme park out of Home"....At least Rikku understood.

Aeon Lord
01-27-2005, 11:08 PM
why dont they make a theme park out of home? they dont have any theme parks in spira.

Agent0042

Because, Megamogattack, it's a place that's very important and kind of secret to a lot of people, just like Zanarkand is.

Why would I be offended? I couldn't really give less of a crap about Zanarkand being a tourist attraction. But I do understand why Yuna, from her perspective, would have been offended by it though.

Lukey

It was pretty annoyed by the Youth League guy acting as coach for the Aurochs during the Gunners Gauntlet side mission; you know, saying Yuna's pilgrimage was useless, that it didn't make a difference. I can't remember exactly, but it was along those lines.
