Universal Presents A Susquehanna Spielbergo film: JAWED!

with Bernard Hermann as Quint. "You got Hollywood hands Mr. Hooper. You've been conducting James Cameron pictures all your life!"

Jerry Goldsmith as Chief Brody. "It's only an orchestra when you look at if from the seats."

and James Horner as Hooper. (to Sid Shineberg) "I believe your going to ignore this particular picture's score until it swims up and bites you in the ass!!"

Are there slates in the booklet too? Most Intrada releases have slates listed somewhere in their booklets. There may be some differences between the slates used in these recordings, compared to the original sheets. That tends to happen sometimes.

The only blood in Poltergeist was when the parapsychologist hallucinated ripping his own face off...they otherwise seemed to skirt around blood as 'ectoplasmic goo'...but the movie was definitely too intense for young kids. Spielberg movies like Jaws, Raiders and (produced) Poltergeist and Gremlins kept pushing the PG rating limits until the scandal with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom resulted in the PG-13 rating. Red Dawn ended up being the first PG-13 movie.

A PG back then is not the same as a PG today. PG-13 wasn't instituted until the 80s. It was PG straight to R before then.

So your wife is probably right in that the kids aren't old enough.

PonyoBellanote

But it is lossless, its just Apples Lossless format (ALAC), rather than FLAC. Just use a converter (XLD, if you are on a Mac, does the job). I do it all the time to convert from FLAC to ALAC.

I have a PC and a Mac with XLD, but iTunes is free for Windows (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) and will convert ALAC to WAVE, then you convert the WAVE with FLAC frontend, Foobar FLAC plugin, etc.

No sooner had I posted this, but the wonderful KevinG has addressed a FLAC version (Thread 197197).

My mom was super uptight and wouldn't let me see a lot of movies as a kid, but Jaws was always allowed. Every child is different in emotional maturity, so it is up to the parent to figure that out. That being said, I feel like Jaws is definitely okay for a child that is between 7-10 to watch as long as somebody older is present. I think most 11-year-olds would be fine watching it on their own.

Thank you Faleel!!! I knew it sounded familiar, but I couldn't remember where. I was thinking it was used at the end of the movie when Hooper is in the shark cage and sees the shark swim away as he is waiting with the dart gun.

You clearly know nothing about lossless codecs.

FLAC, ALAC, APE, WavPack and various others are all lossless audio codecs that offer REALLY lossless formats.

This is a major release, there's no reason to go around in threads just because you're on the rag.

I've been seeing a lot of crap going on in the Jaws threads, that I'm willing to ask the admins to make anything Jaws unshareable.

Or anything Intrada/LLL.

If people can't show apprecition here, do like your mother tells you and don't say anything at all if you got nothing nice to say.

At the request of the OP, I'm closing this thread.
If he wants it open again, he can let me know.
