All the other exciting, recent sessions uploads I'd like to delve into are gobbledygook (for the time being), and this seemed the easiest candidate to tackle and get out the door. Besides, apart from watching the film I wasn't at all familiar with the Lone Ranger soundtrack and thought I'd dive in for closer inspection; of course, in the end, it's really just another slick-slack pastiche score in the Zimmer cannon.

Listenable, passably entertaining, but of dubious artistic merit.

I will admit that it's good, not great, as I like to say and nothing beyond ordinary. You can tell Zimmer put little to no effort into it as it pretty much sounds like a Western Sherlock. Although I've always kinda liked it when scores sound similar.

Equals the effort put into this movie by all concerned. This is the kind of bloated spectacle that gives Hollywood "blockbusters" a bad name.

Well the film had problems from the get-go and production was even temporarily shutdown

I haven't been a fan of Zimmer's work this past few years but this score was fun!

Thanks for your sharing and work on this release.

Tracks 7,12,16,17,25,29,32 & 50 won't extract. I think due to the / in the file names. I get a warning about syntax errors. Anyone know how I can extract these? I had the same problem with Man of Steel complete. Thanks for any advice.

It's been a sometimes practice of mine to allocate the meta comment tag for slates —just for my future reference — but didn't bother in this case. More to the point, including source material wasn't of much interest to me (the score itself is already too long and unwieldy as it is).

I only asked about placement for curiosity sake. Listeners are free to incorporate source material not included in the sessions in their Lone Ranger playlist at their leisure.

I rather enjoyed the soundtrack...

Thanks for this! I had tried my own edit when the sessions leaked but, like you, I found it to be a task to listen through all the way. I can't remember which cue it was but what I thought was a crucial cue turned out to be mono and I ended up abandoning the project. None of what I heard up to that point interested me so it was the better choice for me. Allows me to focus on projects worth my time. Thanks for finishing what I started.

I loved the story about how Zimmer used a deconstructed train for musical elements in this score except it was a concept that I felt was overplayed for how little I heard of it. Maybe I wasn't paying careful enough attention.
