At one point I was going to re-release this after addressing outstanding gain issues and various repairable glitches (actually, I got about a 1/3rd of the way through) but dropped the project figuring an official release wasn't far off (only 3 years!), but it seems even the LP masters have gone the way of the Dodo and Intrada had to resort to using a vinyl source(s). So, other than a rerecording, there doesn't seem to be any chance of there ever being an officially expanded Legend of the Lone Ranger.

Maybe revisiting this one makes more sense now.

That's just sad regarding the Intrada version. Barry is a great composer, indeed but I wish he had utilized a better organization for some of his scores. "Octopussy", "A View to a Kill", "Moonraker", "Goldfinger", "From Russia with Love", "Somewhere in Time", "The Lion in Winter" are probably "lost" at the moment (though I have high hopes for the latter, especially if Twilight Time does a good restoration of "The Lion in Winter" with the isolated score or "Somewhere in Time". "Moonraker" was composed and conducted in France but sources say the mastertapes aren't there anymore, so we don't know for sure...).

Still, I'm glad that at least Twilight Time has the isolated score for TLotLR but the quality is a hit or miss.

Hope you'll revisit because this is a good Barry score and an overlooked one at that.

Barry was the wrong composer for the job.

The film was already dull as dirt, so his underlining the proceedings with lugubrious strings only made the whole retched affair that much more tedious (to say nothing of it being all too reminiscent in tone to his 1970 score for Monte Walsh). And I didn't at all care for the repeated use of the William Tell Overture either. Talk about a clash of tone and styles.
