Is anybody able to repair an album for me please? i've tried myself with audacity but it seems to have affected the audio quality but i'm not great with the software and i was hoping someone else might be.

Of course various things can be done "after the event" in the digital domain, infinitely more important in the quest for a good transfer are the following factors:
a) The state of the LP used for the transfer well looked after, clean vinyl. If it's worn and/or scratched to hell, you will never get optimum results.
b) Use a good turntable and phono stage, and...
c) ...a good analogue to digital converter, and...
d) ...make sure the recording levels are set correctly.

I'm not responsible for ripping the original lp - i have just downloaded it. If it's possible that you can still improve the recording, i'd appreciate it. If this is ok i will pm you?

I like to use sonic sound forge (now owned by sony). They have a wonderful click and crackle remover. It will also remove low frequency rumble. Then I'll use a noise reduction add-on that takes a "noise print" during a quite spot. It can then be applied to the entirety to cancel out that sound. It works well for removing things like tape hiss. The trick is not to do too much fixing with each pass. It's better to do lots of little fixes than one big one. I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but over-processing usually introduces artifiacts and weird sounds (or just takes out valuable data).

There's a similar feature on Audacity which works great on some recordings but on others, it makes them worse.
