Features 170 tracks from the game!

This version definitely sounds better than the others that I've come accross and most likely it'll be as good as we'll get until we have the Super Smash Bros. Special Edition Soundtrack (2CD) or the Wii U GameRip Soundtrack.

My main source was what was uploaded to the ********* forums, which was recorded from the games Sound Test menu.

My remastering covers overall EQ (some low-ends but mostly high-ends for clarity as the recordings were relatively muffled), multi-band compression, stereo field widening and limiting as some songs do surprisingly clip; all have been given a bit of a volume boost too.

As a music producer I couldn't help but go a bit overboard!

I know, some of it wasn't as fun as a few had a 'hiss' coming from what I presume not-so-great recording equipment, though I did manage to reduce a great load of it!

They all came originally from an ugly 192kbps bitrate, so to ensure any significant quality isn't lost I used a program that allows me to simply 'save changes' within the file, instead of having to export it to a new file. I also upped the bitrate to 320kbps when saving to further make sure NOTHING is lost!

The 2CD Soundtrack of Smash is going to be released during Christmas so if you want to skip 3DS rips of Smash, then wait until then.

On October 3 to 4 (I should receive my copy between the two days) I'll be sure to scan the 3DS cover in high quality as well as any extras that may come with it.

October: Part 1/2 of Smash CD Registration
November: Part 2/2 of Smash CD Registration and during the same month it'll be released so until then, it's hard to get a better rip than this due to the (my apologies to any 3DS that may feel offended) poor audio quality that was improved in an effort to sound better.

I can't wait for October and much less for November because once I have my Wii U copy I'll be playing it online to its fullest, plus with the GameCube controller (using the USB adapter).

Yeah, while for now I still have the Super Smash Bros. Unlimited Demo at hand I could tell that the music even with the headphones (in stereo) that it sounded very flat and low quality so Nintendo really needs to step up their game for the next generation of handhelds because this is unacceptable. This isn't just for the Smash demo but 3DS games in general.

The Smash 3DS soundtrack was equalized to be listened with the speakers of 2DS/3DS and not with headphones or any higher quality speakers/headphones.

That's because that medley isn't part of the game itself. It was part of a live concert which consisted of some medleys of popular Nintendo franchises, and this concert was called the Nintendo Special Big Band.

You could try the FLAC rip posted on a different topic but as far as "good quality" sorry bud, the 3DS has shitty audio quality and so do the tracks.

They definitely should because a lot of people were expecting it and considering New Super Mario Bros. U at first was only playable with the GamePad then they later on made it compatible with the Pro Controller (and the rest) so I suppose not all's lost hope.

Just a bit of more patience and the Wii U gamerip as well as the 2CD Soundtrack releases will be available at its best in FLAC. I take it that once I register my Smash Bros. it'll still take a week or two to get the album because it won't be instantly (they have to dispatched to each customer as it's not digital thankfully).

Looks like the rips from the Wii U have started appearing on YouTube, hoping to see a ripped soundtrack on here soon :).

from what I've heard, video uploaders are under an NDA to not reveal unknown stages until the release, so a complete ripped soundtrack is likely to come by the games official release. They also have to unlock the rest of the songs, so we still dont know the complete extent of the OST.

The 2CD soundtrack will ship in March 2015.

They're well known for making convoluted peripherals for just one game, rare occassions, more than one game, and don't touch it again, and expect 3rd party support to scoop in and make use of it.


Maybe some 3rd parties can be expected it, and if Gamecube Virtual console ever becomes a thing, maybe then theres a use, but Sakurai is the only one crazy enough to have been in the position to insist a gamecube controller even be re-desributed again despite being outdated, much less make an adapter for it.

We'll likely get perfect rips from the Wii U game, with much more music than 2CD's could ever hold so the wait for the music won't be that long. The only thing we'll be waiting on is adding it to our collections/sell it.
