The brothers were born in Rocca di Papa, near Rome; Guido de Angelis in 1944 (22 December), and Maurizio de Angelis in 1947 (22 February). Their musical career started in 1963, where, after successfully publishing an LP, they became arrangers for RCA Italiana. Their success led to many more albums in which they composed, arranged, and sang the music.
The De Angelis brothers were among the most prolific Italian musicians of the 1970s. In fact, they were forced to use different names for many of their projects to avoid over-saturating the market. One of these was Oliver Onions, which eventually became the name they were mostly identified with.

Their recording "Santa Maria" was German number one single for six weeks in 1980, followed by the German language version by Roland Kaiser, that was number one for another five weeks, see List of number-one hits of 1980 (Germany). The Roland Kaiser version was also number one in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Although they released many standalone albums, it is for their soundtrack work for which the De Angelis brothers are best known. Out of their many scores, which includes the main theme for the 1983 Italian cult movie Yor, the Hunter from the Future, undoubtedly the most famous and popular are those composed for the Terence Hill and Bud Spencer comedies. Their song "Dune Buggy" for the film Watch Out, We're Mad reached the top of the charts in Europe.

In 1978, they did an alternate version of the title song for The Return of the Saint TV show starring Ian Ogilvy. Their "Taking It Easy" was used in the European versions of the show, where another version was used in English-speaking countries.
They are also known for their work on animated series, having composed original songs for Italian-dubbed anime (such as Doraemon, Ashita no Joe and Galaxy Express 999) and European series (such as Around the World with Willy Fog).
They made music also for title song of Sandokan serie, which was based on the novel E. Salgari.
They are also famous for writing and composing the themes to Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds and Bobobobs.

This is not my rip, but as it is a rare Guido And Maurizio De Angelis soundtrack and has never been released on CD, I thought it would be good to post it, plus it is my favourite soundtrack by the legendary Italian brothers.
Some of the tracks like Box and Salt Lake Feelings sound almost like early techno while the rest of the soundtrack is the usual varied G&M sound, covering various genres.

There seems to be some confusion on the net over who scored the 1984 film Blastfighter - there are some sites that do indeed suggest that is was the De Angelis brothers (which is why Vivoensanse made the request I imagine) - but according to an interview with the director Lamberto Bava, it was in fact Fabio Frizzi who wrote it (under the pseudonym 'Andrew Barrymore') - The old IMDb entry for the film used to credit Guido and Maurizio but it has now been has been updated to Fabio Frizzi. I have never seen the film itself, but this soundtrack clip on Fabio Frizzi's Soundcloud page suggests it is an absolute killer:

It will be the most anticipated soundtrack of 2019, I have been waiting for this wonderful soundtrack for 40 years.
And it is complete with all the songs in the film, I already made the pre-order and I'm counting the days of when it comes to me I have the highest hype ^_^

Yes, I noticed that on Beat Records homepage. Incredible. Let's hope everything goes well and that the sound on the recording is good. I never thought this would happen since so many old 80s De Angelis soundtracks like 'Atlantis Interceptors' (a k a 'Raiders Of Atlantis') still aren't released in full on cd and vinyl, so this is truly a bonus.Well done spotting and ordering so fast! :)

But it will be premiered on September 29 at the presentation of the CD and vinyl in Rome in the presence of the brothers De Angelis and director of the film.
So maybe I can get the MP3s from a friend of mine who will pick it up on September 29th.
I can't go there is far for me.

Unfortunately the Beat Records shop is incredibly expensive, especially the shipping costs. I highly recommend to wait a bit, order this one via Amazon Marketplace and safe a lot of money!

I contacted him yesterday, but he says he has no time, so at this point, I have to wait for my CD to arrive.

Today they sent my CD, it should arrive in two days !!!

I would love to see them release the full score to the very rare 'I predatori di Atlantide' aka 'Raiders of Atlantis' and 'Atlantis Interceptors'. But as the film is maybe a bit too obscure, that probably won't happen. But you can always dream. What do you think Memorabilia?
