This album features some of the instrumental cues Mike Post ("The A-Team") composed
for the popular early 1980s show Hill Street Blues, which is considered a breakthro�gh
towards more realistic, unsentimental cop shows and paved the way for others, like
NYPD Blue, Law & Order, Homicide, etc.

The style is jazzy/bluesy, with electronic and acoustic instruments in the mix. The theme has
become a classic of its kind, like so many Mike Post signature tunes of the 80s.

Mike Post was everywhere in the 80's, kinda like Bear McCreary now. Just checked Wikipaedia, and he's 69 now so I guess his career is over. Shame. When you saw a new series with a theme by him, you'd be humming it for weeks.

The idea to limit shares to a certain period is because I don't want them to be distributed uncontrollably. Asking for shares by others who caught the orignal release in time is not OK, especially when the original uploader is still active in this forum.

It might prompt someone not to share anything anymore.

wimpel69, you could write Sanico a PM to lock your thread.

It seems a little contradictory to me that one would share something, stop sharing something, and then be annoyed that people would still want a copy after the uploader arbitrarily decides to stop sharing. I appreciate that you took the time to create the original files and upload them, but if you have no intention of sharing any further, then you should lock the thread to prevent future public requests.

So the phrase "Sharing has ended", plainly visible in the original post as well, is not enough? Nor the statement "Don't share!"?

BTW, one reason I'm using limited time sharings on film music in most, but not all uploads, is, and this is just an example, nothing personal - what your own statistics on "started[!] threads" brings up:

"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

It's almost invariably those who share nothing themselves that complain about rules "imposed" by other uploaders. You should think about that!

I'm not looking to start a war with you, as I feel it would be un-productive and unnecessary. The interesting thing is, just because someone does not upload shares to threads does not mean they don't upload or don't share. I handle most of my sharing requests through PM's on other threads that I am fairly active on. In any case, if this is how you get to make yourself feel important, I certainly will not stop you.

To be fair to wimpel he does clearly state the situation prominently in the first post. It is not a policy that I would endorse, but it is down to wimpel. Personally I see the greatest limiting factor as the lack of downloaders with extensive HD capacity. A few years ago the forum was littered with members whose contributions was purely "cloud-based". In reality, once Megaupload died links lost their meaning and those members had nothing. The only real currency now is files on a hard disk. Someone earlier today asked for a re-upload of Mulan. As it tuned out it wasn't needed as an alternative thread already had active links for that title. But I checked my files, and I had 8 different copies that I could have re-uploaded of that title alone. Now I know that others may have things that they could re-upload, but if you take out all the titles like Batman, Superman, Star Trek & Star Wars, Inception and Transformers, then there will not be very many members who could. That in the end is the great factor limiting uncontrolled spread of shares. Yes the new Mega seems quite sturdy now, but the day will come again when people loose all their files, and rely on the few like me who have Hard Drives. It is a great pity that there aren't more like us.

And even when I have something, I do not re-upload against the wishes of the original uploader.
