im basically stuck in every way shape n form. i've got all the materia cept the one from the rocket (cause im an idiot and didnt get the code). i've tried everything, spent hours searching every town for something to do and there's nothing...no way to progress the story. did not getting that materia skrew me? or did i do something else to make my 36 hours of playtime a waste?

As for an answer to your question, if you are where I think you are in the game, you've just escaped from the rocket as it's hit Meteor, yes? Well, the next option from here is to go and see Bugenhagen again in Cosmo Canyon. If I am mistaken as to where you are, then please post again, and I'll try to help.

bugenhagen isnt there. some dude is walking around his house instead. i got off the rocket a while back, been running round leveling up, going down to the red sub, the crashed plane, a.ka. doing everything that ive been told to do by all the internet guides(srry bout puttin this int he wrong forum..posted one here and got no replies)

Are you on the 2nd disk or the 3rd disk? If you're on the 2nd disk, tell me exactly what the last thing you did in terms of story advancement was. If you're on 3rd disk, it's relatively simple, fly over the Northern Crater, press X to land and you're ready to descend for the final battle.

2nd disk. the very last thing i did..hmm. took a minor vacaction from the game so i think. before visting the sunken sub n plane today...the last thing i rmember is that whole Cloud's past thing.

Go to the northern crater see wat happens.

Cloud's past thing came before the rocket.

Well, basically, if you've gone to Cosmo Canyon to speak to Bugenhagen, try going back to the City of the Ancients and to the place in the centre of the city. If you haven't used the sub to find a key for that place yet, then that's the next step.

I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil things for you.

thanks, guys, for the help. i figured it out. for some reason i hadta bring the key of ancients to bugen...which i had done before but i guess didnt save. and i figured out why i had stopped playing..the CG is freezes up and gameplay hatls..time to borrow another copy. lol. thanks again.
