Even though this is an excellent expansion of the butchered official release, there is some music that's still missing... For example, that wonderful drumming sequence in crescendo during the cage scene, just before all hell breaks loose with the pteranodons attacking... Still, a lot of good action music was included in this promo, like the entire Spinosaurus attack scene at the end, which is magnificent music ("Spinosaurus Confrontation" has to be one of the best action cues Don Davis ever wrote)... So much excellent music for a kinda shitty sequel (Joe Johnston needs a break.. like a lifetime-break!)...

Oooooh.... It appears that you answered to my question... It's still not the COMPLETE film version... I found one day a Complete Score 2 CD-fan made which contained this Drumming Sequence in Crescendo Cage Scene's music.... AND the Film Version for The Hat Returns... I lose it ... :(. It was an excellent edition.

Well, I got this edition not too long after the film was released... So, it's been around for some time now. Though, I'd never seen it labeled as a FYC promo... It may lack several alternate tracks, but it's a wonderfull edition, nonetheless!!! You get to hear the full versions of 'Cooper's Last Stand' and 'Tiny Pecking Pteranodons' which are really outstanding action tracks!!!

This edition is different compared to the last Complete Score we know...

I listened to the track "03 - Nash, Udesky and Cooper" ... The 2nd part of that track is new!... An unused part in the movie never heard before having this edition... ;)

Then, for the track "07 - Cooper's Last Stand", a part of that track is new. An other unused part insert...

The promo has stuff different than than the album, lots of different editing...

BrachioInGen did create a complete edit and then redid it recently to get everything that he could. The only issue he had was with the correct assembly of the end credits which couldn't be completed

I agree...if not for the fact that Don Davis' name was on-screen, I would have thought it was Williams' work! Mr. Davis did a great job! :)

It does sound like Williams...but the wrong Williams...Williams from the 70's perhaps...wrong era...some of the cues are great... but in all I don't think it's the best score but I blame the film more than Don Davis...the production delays no doubt hindered his ability to write a truly well done score... All the scenes that had great music were scenes that were the best thought out and changed the least in production I'd bet too.

I'm tempted to upload my edit of JP3 too... cause I think that's why people were confused about some of this. Might help explain it

I was really surprised. I am gutting albums, just keeping tracks I like. And oddly, I found I kept this album whole. Surprised me. I have had this for a couple of years, it had always been labeled as a FYC in my archive.

THere is an album, a Promo Album (dunno if it's a FYC) and then there's the complete score edit I made. They do sometimes get all mixed up

What i have is the same 28 tracks here, I think. Although, mine is converted 320 from a flac archive.

At first, I thought the film had different mixes of certain cues (lacking most of the horns) but with cleaner rips and closer comparison, I can see these are SEPARATE recordings. Due to the heavy use of rear channel rips on these alternate versions (sans horns), They are put as extras (mostly) on Disc 2.
