"O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum, du kannst mir sehr gefallen!"

SYNOPSIS
What do you get when you combine a 60's Bubblegum band with Charles Shultz's beloved Peanuts character Snoopy and a touch of Christmas?
The answer is "Snoopy's Christmas" played by "The Royal Guardsmen" from Ocala, Florida.
The song is about how Snoopy had to go out and fight the Red Baron on Christmas Eve. The Baron has Snoopy at his mercy after a long dogfight but, instead of shooting him down he forces Snoopy to land and offers Snoopy a holiday toast. Afterward, Snoopy and the Red Baron fly their separate ways, "each knowing they'd meet on some other day".

THE SOUNDTRACK
Here's a little gem that I once owned on 8-track and later replaced with a vinyl copy found in a Christmas discount rack (this album has been out of print for along time). "Snoopy Versus The Red Baron", "The Return Of The Red Baron" and "Snoopy's Christmas" are presented in true stereo.
TRACK LIST
Side "A" (on the original album) presents the complete story of Snoopy versus the Red Baron:
01 The Story Of Snoopy Versus The Red Baron (dialogue)
02 Snoopy Versus The Red Baron (stereo)
03 The Story Of The Return Of The Red Baron (dialogue)
04 The Return Of The Red Baron (stereo)
05 The Story Of Snoopy's Christmas (dialogue)
06 Snoopy's Christmas (stereo)
Side "B" has other miscellaneous Royal Guardsmen tracks:
07 I Say Love
08 Down Behind The Lines
09 Its Sopwith Camel Time
10 So Right To Be In Love
11 Airplane Song My Airplane
12 It Kinda Looks Like Christmas
There were a number of copies of this album released on various labels over the years, including Laurie, Misseltoe and Holiday, just to name a few. The original master tapes had some background hiss, but I think you'll still find this album enjoyable.
