Uh...320CBR->VBR V0 causes loss anyway, it's part of how it works.....you wouldn't lose anything you aren't trying to lose anyway.

Don't do that... it sends a bad message. You're rewarding lazyness. Theres no reason why "they" can't convert from a higher quality to a lower quality themselves.

In my opinion, people should only be allowed to ask for higherquality music because you they can't convert upward. And if they want lower quality, then they should just convert themselves because all the tools are there, its incredibly simple, its easier on you, and its faster for them instead of waiting on you.

Because if you prefer lossy over lossless, then you clearly don't care about file integrity, so it shouldn't matter if you rip VBR or CBR. And if you don't care about lossy, and can't hear the difference between the two, then you're essentially uploading THE SAME DAMN FILES twice, because someone is too lazy to downgrade to VBR themselves.

I think you should have uploaded in Lossless, and just let the people convert to whatever format at whatever bitrate themselves. Though I'm not requesting lossless because the compilation album features nothing unique from the other Kingdom Hearts soundtracks.

Converting from MP3 CBR (Lossy) to another MP3 VBR (Lossy) only causes quality loss.

Let me explain myself:

1 - Cyberman65 (original uploader, Thanks!) uploaded a 320 CBR MP3 ONLY ver. OK.
2 - Patrick1287 asked "Thank you and can you upload in MP3 VBR V0 ? (Which is fine BTW)

And now the question is... If we have a MP3 with 320 CBR how the hell we want to/gonna convert to a LOWER bitrate when the CDA-> MP3 (1st conver.) was already done?. Its like shooting on your own foot dude!

This is only an opinion but i thought that songs were not "lineal" (constant, i mean) and were variable and thats where the VBR-0 is useful. SAME quality (at least for the headphones/ears/audio devices) at lower size. I wonder which one is the really one which is above...

Edit: Also the links for Disc 1 and 2 are switched. That's not really a big problem.

Arguing about CBR vs VBR is pointless. How I see it, is anyone who doesn't save their collection as FLAC, WAV, TTA, APE, etc... clearly don't care about file integrity or quality. And if they don't care about having lossless formats, then they shouldn't care about the INSIGNIFICANT differences between CBR vs VBR. Its like arguing who has the smallest penis that can be measured in a few millimeters.

Was it ever established if this was a remaster or just simply copies of the same tracks from past OST collections?

Its not a remastered soundtrack... They are the top tracks selected by fans from the previous OSTs

It's a nice 10th Anniversary gift, but aside from that and after listening to it, it's a fan-selected compilation.

Unless my ears have returned to completely normal now (and they haven't) I'd swear tracks like Dismiss sound more... vivid. The BBS OST had the volume reaaally low on some tracks. And here it's fixed, it seems.

Cyberman65, if you could upload a FLAC version of this CD, we audiophiles would be in your debt. There is a guide on how to do it here (http://www.lunetta.net/lossless/). You just need EAC (Exact Audio Copy). Always use EAC if you can.
