Despite the fact that I think I understand the reasoning behind the unpopularity of my other mega-threads, I thought it was about time to make a mega-thread for Pirates of the Caribbean. In this thread, you will not find direct download links to anything. Rather, this thread will be used as more of the ultimate reference guide to all threads related to Pirates expanded scores, DVD rips, YouTube rips, and so forth (because there are a lot of them). If you find a thread that you like but the links in it are dead, try asking in that thread for re-ups (not here). Eh, that's probably enough of an intro. Let's get onto the links: posted by film and then chronological order!

(Later on, I may or may not decide to provide links to the OSTs. But that might be an excessive amount of links.)

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Thread 39879: Posted by Sharon Agathon on 06 May 2007
This one appears to be the oldest expanded score thread and the first of its type to be found on the Shrine. Elsewhere, there are several variations of this arrangement of the score. What are the details that make them all similar? Maybe the OST is un-amplified a small bit and put into film order, and then some or most of the snippets of unreleased music found on the DVD menus is integrated along with the OST. Maybe there are a couple tracks that came from defunct composers' websites or YouTube. (29 tracks, unknown run time, unknown quality)

Thread 50556: Posted by Alpha23 on 01 February 2008
This is the second oldest DVD rip I can find for this film. Its most recent post was from over two years ago, and by the looks of it, something happened to Alpha23 and all of his posts in the thread were deleted. Now, no information is known about it, apart from how long it was. (unknown track count, 105 minutes, unknown quality)

Thread 90445: Posted by jacksparrow900 on 22 May 2011
As per the OP description, this rip uses the track titles from Alpha23's rip, but it also supposedly used some music from the DVD's menus. From looking at the post I, myself, made early on in the thread, I would guess this rip is still pretty similar to Alpha23's. (unknown track count, unknown run time, unknown quality)

Thread 94839: Posted by Jediknight12 on 29 August 2011
This one appears to be only the second one of its type that can be found on the Shrine. The first was posted by Sharon Agathon in 2007. Maybe this one features a couple revised tracks; I don't know. What I do know is that it appears to be approximately the same length and similar track names. The OP states that this is actually the work of a YouTube user named poisonheadcrab. (29 tracks, 73 minutes, unknown quality)

Thread 95736: Posted by ManofDestiny on 16 September 2011
And then we get to an actual true expanded edition of the score that does not have any SFX! While, again, it features a lot of the music found on the DVD menus, it also features somewhere around 10 or so tracks that were not previously available. Maybe the tracks from the OST were passed through a couple filters, but also the new unreleased tracks were amplified to match the volume level of the OST (which is odd; you'd think the real deal wouldn't have the same defect that the OST resulted in having). (42 tracks, 90 minutes, 320kbps mp3)

Thread 100007: Posted by jacksparrow900 on 27 November 2011
This is jacksparrow900's follow-up to ManofDestiny's expanded score from Takeshi. It integrates the new material from Takeshi's score into his already existing DVD rip that was posted earlier in the year a different DVD rip from the one that was posted earlier on in the year. (51 tracks, unknown run time, unknown quality)

Thread 117875: Posted by poisonheadcrab 05 July 2012
As a follow-up to Jediknight12's posting of poisonheadcrab's original edit of the score, poisonheadcrab himself now posts a revised edition of his edit. Updates were made, but that's the most specific thing that can be said about it. The track list looks to be the longest yet and perhaps this is the most comprehensive edit so far with the least amount of SFX (who knows?). (52 tracks, 109 minutes, unknown quality)

Thread 121819: Posted by Studio13Drew on 08 October 2012
This thread was closed shortly after it was started due to the unwritten policy that the download links forum is for completed works, NOT for under construction works, incomplete works, or only samples of soon-to-be completed works. (unknown)

Thread 122750: Posted by Studio13Drew on 31 October 2012
To follow up on his uncompleted work, Studio13Drew has posted a true complete work. I do not know how it measures up to all the other rips that have all been posted using the same DVD over the years. (50 tracks, unknown run time, unknown quality--"at least not 32k")

Thread 124925: Posted by Nightmare27 on 25 December 2012
Nightmare27 says he doesn't take credit for uncovering this gem, and I wouldn't give him credit. We all know, without saying it, who is responsible for this share. After nearly a decade and many identical sounding DVD rips later, the real deal is finally here. A line of tracks in the latter half of the score all have some horrible static, though, almost as though they were ripped off of a 25-year-old record. (72 tracks, 144 minutes, M4A quality?)

Additional information: sometime after the share of the actual recording sessions, the composer of the score himself (Klaus Badelt) posted the full sessions on his own website. Here, none of the tracks are flawed and he's even posted one or two alternates that weren't found on the sessions posted here. Someone please don't rip all of this starting a new thread and making it all seem like brand new stuff. It isn't.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Thread 41010: Posted by scoreman on 10 June 2007
Nobody has any idea what was contained in this set, but I figure it must be whatever was around for promotional stuff near the time of the film's release (possibly some of the tracks that were integrated into the edition they call the "Extended Experience"). (unknown track count, unknown run time, unknown quality)

Thread 74712: Posted by Piano on 10 March 2010
Four unreleased tracks that were found on Tom Gire's and John Sponsler's website (they can still be found there with a simple Google search). (4 tracks, 15 minutes, 192kbps)

Thread 78896: Posted by The Dimensioner on 21 September 2010
Only because I am the OP, I feel this was the biggest and best edit of the score around for a long time to come. This incorporates all available material at the time: the OST, tracks posted on various composers' websites, and DVD audio to fill in all the rest. In addition to my main edit, there was another smaller collection of music including things that I had initially over-looked and had decided against integrating into the main edit. (48+10=58 tracks, 163+30=193 minutes, 192kbps mp3)

Thread 91769: Posted by cheeseparty67 on 01 July 2011
This appears to be the "Extended Experience" that came out a while ago, except with fewer bonus tracks at the end, but with the tracks that were posted on Geoff Zanelli's site as well as the one from Trevor Morris' site. (23 tracks, 84 minutes, unknown quality)

Thread 94848: Posted by Jediknight12 on 29 August 2011
Largely a variation on the "Extended Experience" as very little new material had surfaced between this and the one posted by cheeseparty67. Also, this one had slightly more questionable quality. (28 tracks, 87 minutes, unknown quality)

Thread 117861: Posted by Jediknight12 on 05 July 2012
This "re-upload" of Jediknight12's previous post now includes 11 more tracks, which I'm assuming must also equal a much longer run time! However, still no more new material had surfaced at this time, so it's still just the same old stuff that's already been found with the addition of a few DVD-ripped tracks as well as some unused material from the OST used to fluff it all up. (39 tracks, unknown run time, 256kbps mp3)

Thread 122529: Posted by poisonheadcrab on 26 October 2012
Meh, the OP of this one pretty much covers all the bases. Anything I could say here is just a restatement of what can be found by clicking through. Mostly, this is a re-upload of Jediknight12's re-upload, only this time it was posted by the person that deserves the true credits. It includes selections from previous bootlegs, including mine, as well as some stuff ripped from YouTube. The concept of using others' edits in your own edit has always baffled me. (40 tracks, unknown run time, unknown quality)

Thread 124937: Posted by Nightmare27 on 25 December 2012
Much like Nightmare27's share for Pirates 1, we can all guess who is responsible for obtaining this gem. This is definitely the best one to go with, as it's the first legitimately expanded version of this score. We might be able to call it complete if it weren't missing one or two composers' works. Around 15 cues not totaling much more than 20 minutes (all rough estimates) are missing from this. FYI: it can still be called the "recording sessions" even if it isn't "complete". (52 tracks, 143 minutes, M4A quality?)

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Thread 74709: Posted by Piano on 10 March 2010
Four unreleased tracks that were found on Tom Gire's and John Sponsler's website (they can still be found there with a simple Google search). (4 tracks, 8 minutes, 192kbps mp3)

Thread 84037: Posted by The Dimensioner on 27 December 2010
At one point in time, this edit was an absolute must-have because (as with my Pirates 2 edit) it included all known available material at the time, plus some previously undiscovered bits I had found on the special features DVD disc. This was the first full rip of the score, which used the OST, all samples found on composers' websites, plus several new unreleased bits. I spent over a year working on it, and it still has a place in my memory as one of my best works. (48+28=76 tracks, 198+74=272 minutes, 192kbps mp3)

Thread 94838: Posted by Takeshi "Samurai" on 29 August 2011
The first legitimately expanded release of this score to surface. It featured a large amount of now-SFX-free material, but it sill lacked several chunks of good music. Nevertheless, it was at the time the must-have edition of the score. (45 tracks, 123 minutes, 192kbps mp3)

Thread 94868: Posted by The Dimensioner on 29 August 2011
This revised version of my edit took my previous edit, upgraded all possible audio to be sourced from lossless sources, tweaked a few of the tracks, and took advantage of Takeshi's above post--which produced, yet again, the most comprehensive edit seen at that time. Also, some of the unnecessary alternates were stripped out from my previous edit, and some tracks included film edits. (64 tracks, 162 minutes, 320kbps mp3)

Thread 95042: Posted by StarWarsFan786 on 02 September 2011
I think this might have just been a re-post of Takeshi's expanded bootleg, except in transcoded FLAC.

Thread 122912: Posted by poisonheadcrab on 4 November 2012
Like this user's edit for Pirates 2, this one incorporates tracks from past rips and edits, which still confuses me just as much. I mean, it's one thing to include tracks from Magic Box Music's or Geoff Zanelli's sites, but it's another thing to include tracks that were edited by someone else or even tracks that have been through more than one round of editing. Whatever. (47 tracks, unknown run time, unknown quality)

Thread 123873: Posted by scorepranos on 29 November 2012
And then it came time for this score's long journey of repetitive bootlegs and DVD rips to end. Here, you can find literally everything for Pirates 3--everything that was missing from Takeshi's share, plus many never-heard-before alternates. One minor drawback: three cues are missing, but two of them were just reused albeit altercations of cues from previous films, and the third was the film version of the "Hoist the Colours Suite". Seriously, if you've been needing to have an eargasm, I would highly recommend downloading this. (71 tracks, 179 minutes, 320kbps mp3)

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Thread 92721: Posted by [now] KaFaraqGatri on 23 July 2011
Back when things relating to Pirates 4 could be considerate, this is the first expanded score for this very poorly scored follow-up to At World's End. This is a compilation of the OST (sans stupid remix tracks), additional tracks graciously posted by Magic Box Music, and various cues selected from the demos (see below for more information on those). (34 tracks, 79 minutes, unknown quality)

Thread 92745: Posted by cheeseparty67 on 24 July 2011
The first posting in a long line of postings for this score (it's almost as cursed as Inception). First there was the set of 41 demos. The last fourth of the score was missing as well as numerous other cues throughout. (41 tracks, unknown run time, unknown quality)

Thread 92875: Posted by Zero_flyer on 27 July 2011
Then, the demos were combined with the guitar tracks from the OST as well as the bonus tracks found on Magic Box Music. The last fourth of the score is still missing save for what the MBM tracks filled in. (66 tracks, 161 minutes, unknown quality)

Thread 94604: Posted by scoreman on 23 August 2011
Next up: everything. This is it. This consists of ALL the demos put together for Pirates 4. And it feels like I'm missing out on a few threads in-between this one and the next because I was certain a lot more threads were posted that rehashed the 41-track set of demos. (107 tracks, 207 minutes, VBR mostly-320kbps mp3)

Thread 94727: Posted by jacksparrow900 on 26 August 2011
Pretty much just the complete set of demos posted by scoreman, except with the excessive silences removed, some tracks combined into their film mixes and the inclusion of a DVD rip of the one track missing from the demos. Also, all the alternates were not included. Get this one if you're seeking a slimmed down film arrangement of the demos. (46 tracks, unknown run time, unknown quality)

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (Complete Demo Recordings) (2011) (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/pirates-caribbean-stranger-tides-3cd-complete-demo-94604/6.html#post1771159): Posted by konio755 on 29 August 2011
First re-upload of scoreman's full set of demos, sans the one cue that scoreman found separated from the rest of the lot. This thread has since been merged with scoreman's original post and is now acting as a mirror to that. (106 tracks, 205 minutes, 320kbps mp3)

Thread 97329: Posted by boosterrr on 24 October 2011
Second re-upload of scoreman's full set of demos, with two errors that could have been determined before the thread was posted instead of after. Error #1: that this was the actual recording sessions, not the demos. Error #2: that this was in FLAC when it was actually just a transcode. OP was removed. (you could guess this stuff)

Pirates Of The Caribbean On Stranger Tides Complete Demo - (mp3 - 320 kbps) (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/pirates-caribbean-stranger-tides-3cd-complete-demo-94604/10.html#post2310792): Posted by anakinbetrayal on 26 March 2013
Third re-upload of scoreman's full set of demos. This thread has since been merged with scoreman's original post and is now acting as a mirror to that. THIS TIME, the total file size was over double that of the original set, giving the illusion that this might be something as-yet unheard. However, when the OP hyped up the set of demos he had in this request thread: Thread 129829, he failed to mention the fact that he had acquired them from the Shrine! Oh, and the reason for the huge file size was the fact that every single track was tagged with an 11MB album cover. (you could guess this stuff)

I look forward to the next time someone posts scoreman's set of demos, claiming to have the next big thing. I cannot, however, see in the foreseeable future, that anyone will ever find and post the orchestral recording sessions. But that's okay, because several composers have very kindly posted some of their own works on the score which greatly help to enhance and supplement the OST and/or demos.

Previous resources threads

Thread 112412: Posted by Amanda on 06 April 2012
Just a collection of all the music found on Geoff Zanelli's new (at the time) website. I believe music from all four Pirates movies is featured on this site.

Thread 120950: Posted by CaptainTwan on 23 September 2012
One of the weirdest amalgamations of Pirates music I have ever encountered: various seemingly random selections of previous DVD rips, expanded scores, rips from composers websites, YouTube rips, YouTube rips OF DVD rips, and even a couple tracks from some Pirates video games. The tracks were named senselessly, and in several cases, things were combined in a way that's been heard absolutely nowhere else outside of this....thing.

Thread 121063: Posted by TheMrTWAN1997 on 25 September 2012
Don't worry guys, this is actually still CaptainTwan. His account was hacked or something, so instead of trying to sort it out or whatever he just created a new one. This is either a repost or an update to the previous thread.

What about that makes it sound like it is from CotBP...? It certainly doesn't sound like Zimmer music. Hell, it doesn't even sound like Pirates music.

Has been updated with additional links and added descriptions to all previous entries. I wonder if I'll have to update this anymore with more redundant re-posts. That seems far more likely than threads created for things like the missing Pirates 2 cues, or the recording sessions for Pirates 4. One can dream, though.
