Highly recommended score!!! Though it screams for a Complete edition!!! So many good tracks were left out!!!! Maybe La-La Land could do proper justice to this awesome score and release a special edition, as they are keen on expanding Goldsmith's scores...

This is a wretched, wretched film... the original 1963 THE HAUNTING directed by Robert Wise with Humphrey Searles' eerie score is superlative, just superlative (Goldsmith's music for this is so-so, but not great).

I highly recommend the masterful novel THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE by Shirley Jackson from which both films originated (the remake FAR FAR FAR less so). Jackson caused a stir across the country when her short story THE LOTTERY first appeared in The New Yorker. Years later she followed with her masterpiece... a truly scary ghost story.

In turn Robert Wise created a frightening, nerve tingling film... and you see nothing.
