I'm not sure but I think you can also date Nanaki. There's a huge list of things that you need to do to date Yuffie and Barret though.

The whole dating system is set up in 'affection points' the more you answer a question in a good way to one of the characters or talk to them the more points you'll have for them.

Yes call Earis a smelly fish a lot and tell Tifa how much you like her all the time and you will be fine!!!

But Juffie you have to do a lot of stuff to pull that of..

to get yuffie to be taken with you need to have got her before youre first trip to junon. and then you need her in youre team for the time until you go to te gold saucer. Other things you need to do is when you get to areas where tho whole group congregates and splits up ALWAYS talk to her first and talk to her a couple of times even if she is saying the same thing. You also want cloud to cast lots of healing spells and protective spells on her and make sure tifa and aeires are not in youre team. and then also equip cover if you have it coz it does help. Plus just generally be nice to her and pay attention to her all the time

for tifa just never talk to aeris unless you have to to progress...for barret dont talk to either tifa or aeris unless you have to and when you go to kalm for the first time he will ask cloud for a non-gay date

it only works with the talking though having cover or healing them dont matter at all taking them with you in the team helps though and when you leave midgar just repeatedly alk to the one you want before you leave and it will "up" your score

There's an awesome FAQ on the dating part over at GameFAQ's (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/game/20052.html). It's called the Date Mechanics Guide. Just follow that and you'll be fine.

As for the Barret date, I think he just talks about Marnela (whatever her name is) and how he'd want her to see this. Nothing nasty though. Just guy talk. :D No, not guy talk about doing each other. Straight guy talk.

I'm not sure what you mean, but here's the deal: if you get Cloud to be chosen by the Don, there will be a point where the Don asks Cloud what he thinks about him and then asks if there's someone else. You should choose "Yeah, his name is Barrett." That gets you points for Barrett.
