WARNING: SPOILERS

One certain spoiler is really everywhere and it is really hard not to stumble across it: Aeris dies.
Did you actually find this out while playing the game and reaching this scene, or were you, like so many many more, spoilered before you could even start playing the game?
If so, do you remember where you came across this spoiler?

I remember, it was when my brother was playing FFVII and I read it in a walkthrough or something similar in a German gaming magazine called PC Games. I think it was that they referred to a location as "the place where Aeris is killed". Yes, thank you very much for that. :nono:

Edit: Killed the typo in Aeris' name before her fans kill me instead...

***SPOILERS.***

I myself wasn't spoilered, but I remember when talking something over with my mate Ross, with Dave Richards listening in. I knew Dave hadn't got that far, so I said to him "you might not want to listen to this" and he said "no, go on" so I turned to Ross and said "You know when Aeris was killed?" And Dave went "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111 1111111111111111111"

And that's a true story.

I honestly don't remember if I knew before playing it or not.

I rented FFVII about 4 years ago, stopped right before Aeris dies (and I didn't know anything about it). A year later, I continued with my save file and my friend was in the room. Right after I was about to see it, before even the FMV started, my friend was like

OMG, AERIS IS GOING TO DIE!

I then promptly beat him with my PSX controller...

Bastard. ;_;

I wasn't spoiled. :) So I was extremely surprised and shocked when Aeris died.

I dont remember how it came up, but a friend of mine was talking ff7 with me and he gave it away. I wonder how many people actually got to be surprised...

i played impatient gamer and flipped a few chapters ahead in my strategy guide looking at all the pretty pictures, and i stumbled across the scene where cloud drops aeris in the water and she sinks. when i actually got there i was excited to see what was actually going on, and my friend was there, but he stayed silent. so then he puts her on the lake and she starts sinking.. and sinking.. and im like ehh, shes fine. shell be okay in the end. then my friend said she doesnt come back..

so thats what we call a half spoiler, i suppose.

It was sort of liek that for me too. I never had it spoiled for me, luckily enough, but when she died I was like "No! She comes back..she just has to...you watch, in the ending, Aeris will be back alive again!"

.....;-;

'Twas truly a sad moment not just in FF7 but in my life...(~Aeris Obsessive x__x)

I feel sorry for all who it was spoiled for..=\ Soowwyy. I hate people who spoil gaming events >=(

I wasn't. I mean, I was sort of playing with a walkthrough and I did read in the walkthrough about her leaving the party, but the walkthrough didn't give anything away about her death and I didn't predict it. So it had the full non-spoiled impact for me. BTW, cool topic.

I wasn't spoiled - my friend told me that you only get Aeris for the 1st disc, but he didn't tell me why.

Good thing too. I would've killed him for saying something so mean about my beloved Aeris ;_;

Yes! Yes! I agree!

*ahem*

I was one of the (or was I?) lucky ones who played it through and recieved the shock. I was like *gasps* and cried when I heard the theme.

So there you go.

*Looks at back of the CD box for the game.*

*Sees that screenshot.*

*Wonders if Square put it there on purpose.*

I am surprised that I didn't see this and think "why is he lowering her there for?"

I'm not entirely sure but somewhere in some US packaging I saw that picture...

Actually, there was a FF7 ad on TV and I believe Cloud was laying Aeris in the body of water. :O

Ha ha, it's on mine too. Intriguing. Why did they do that?

Anywho, I wasn't spoiled. Well, not about Aeris...

*SPOILERS*
I was told that Rufus was going to die though. That sucked, Rufus was cool.

I checked my box for the PC version of the game and it doesn't have that scene, which I guess is good.

I wasn't spoilered, I was playing the game long before I joined any FF related forums, so I guess I am lucky.

Well, on the pc you could view all the movies (which later they conviently coded for FF8)
Well, I was watching the movies and then I saw it; Didn't know how she died yet.. .but she was dead and got burried in a water like place ^^;

I wasn't spoilered. I wasn't on any forums or whatever, and my brother, who had played it before me, didn't say a word about it. It took me so completely by surprise. ;_;

her limit breaks were....heal? Status aliments? Pfft. What were they thinking?!

I thought her healing limit breaks were pretty useful. And Great Gospel owns. :D She's the best magic user, too. Well.. she was in my game, anyway. XD

Aeris' last moment was spoiled.

HOWEVER,

A friend told me that it happened in the middle of Disc 2, not the end of Disc 1. So I saw Sephiroth going down and thought it wasn't time yet...but it was.

IT still profoundly hurt to watch a character so pure and compassionate towards others just be so viciously murdered.

It sucks because tactically, she is the best character.

Not only her limits heal saving you turns, time, money, and items, she can make you invincible with her third one and final one.

However, the best one lies in "Fury Brand" I believe.

It is only a limit level 2 and fills up quick. It activates the limit break of the other two characters. If you have Cloud with his omnislash and Cid with his final one, you've got completely devestating attacks to deal.

My brother and sister played it before me but they didn't ruin it for me. I wouldn't have been that mad either actually. I don't remember reading, listening, or seeing something that would suggest her dying. So, it wasn't ruined for me thankfully.

I Agree With Gandalf (Formerly Cecil Like the Biggest Aeris fan) And i Found out For Myself Being The Only Person In My Town To play "Those Nerdy Sword And Magic Princess Games" It Was Touching And It Was Like Losing The Chick Youve Been Friends With Since You Were 3... Kinda Like The Girl Next Door Except you COuldnt Play Doctor And Nurse With this one. And Yes her Limits Owned Fury Brand Was Brilliant And Great Gospel...? Need i Say More Than All Party Resurrected All Hp Mp Status And Invincibilty? Than And A Fire 3 Comin From Her Is A Very Spicy Meatball

I was spoilered since my friend who was a very compassionate FFVII player found out I've never played that game and (since having the PC-Version) thought it a good idea to show my some of the movies.

She indented only to play those small ones but accidently she clicked on the Aeris' Death Scene one. >_<

After that we palyed the game from the beginning up to going to Kalm... that I can see what the whole game was about without spoilers...

Nearly every FF7 website I went to talked about Aeris's death. I was spoilered before I even started playing it. :p
