Final Fantasy IX 9 Items and Key Items




These are the general items that will aid you through out the game. If you want to recover HP or MP, or cure status effects in or out of battle, an item to do so will be availible in one of the stores scattered across Gaia's towns. Note that some of the rare items are only availible from Synthesis Shops (denoted by *) or can not be bought from stores at all.

Annoyntment 150 75 Cures trouble.
Antidote 50 25 Cures poison and venom.
Dead Pepper n/a 50 Allows your chocobo to find treasure and deals damage to enemy equivelant of the number of peppers in your invetory X30 when used in battle.
Echo Screen 50 25 Cures silence.
Elixir n/a 1 Fully restores HP and MP.
Ether 500* 1,000 Restores 100mp on the world map, or 150mp in battle.
Eye Drops 50 25 Cures Darkness.
Gysahl Greens 80 30 Calls a chocobo when standing on chocobo foot prints. Also cures Beserk.
Hi-Potion 200 100 Restores 300 HP on the world map, restores 450 HP in battle.
Magic Tag 100 100 Cures Zombie.
Ore n/a 150 Can only be used during a battle. Restores HP equivelant to the amount of ores in your invetory X4.
Phoenix Down 150 150 Restores life to KO'd characters.
Phoenix Pinion 300* 1,000 Revives from Death , but can only be used while in battle.
Potion 50 25 Restores 100 HP on the world map, restores 150 HP in battle.
Remedy 300 150 Cures most abnormal status' (Stop, Poison, Venom, Mini, Gradual Petrify, Silencem Darkness).
Soft 100 50 Cures Petrify and Gradual Petrify.
Tent 800 400 Restores HP and MP at a save point moogle, or afflicts silence, darkness and poison on an enemy during battle.
Vaccine 100 100 Cures Virus.

Key items generally serve little practical use, but many may hold information about the characters or the plot, or be the reward of a sidequest or fight. Many of these items will remain in your inventory until the end of the game.

Aquarius Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Aries Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Athlete Queen The final item you recieve when Vivi is victorious in his races against Hippaul.
Autograph This is given to you by Lowell in the Theatre District studio in Lindblum.
Beautiful Potion A potion given to you by Alice in the weapon shop, after Lindblum lies in ruins on disk three. See Also Unusual Potion and Strange Potion for the ingrediants to Cid's cure.
Blank's Medicine Blank gives this item to you before you explore the Evil forest. Used to cure Garnet of the Plant Brain's seed.
Blue Stone One of the four coloured stones found on the Conde Petie mountain path.
Burman Coffee Found in a chest in the locked part of the Dali windmill, along with 30,000 gill (how handy!). Not accessible until you have the mayor's key.
Cancer Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Capricorn Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Continental Map Hurled to you by Blank just before his death in the Evil Forest. Helps you to navigate the Mist Continent.
Desert Star One of four jewels (also see: Silver Pendant, Falcon Claw, and Memory Earing). Found in Alexandria at the begining of disk three.
Doga's Artifact A rare item which can be bought in the auction site in Treno on disk two.
Earth Mirror An item recovered from a wall in Ipsen's Castle. One of the four mirrors used to open the seal to Terra. See also Fire Mirror, Wind Mirror and Water Mirror.
Falcon Claw One of four rare jewels (also see: Silver Pendant, Falcon Claw, and Memory Earing).
Fire Mirror An item recovered from a wall in Ipsens Castle. One of the four mirrors used to open the seal to Terra. See also Earth Mirror, Wind Mirror and Water Mirror.
Gate Pass This is an item given to Steiner at the Bohden Gate.
Gemini Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Gizamaluke Bell This is given to you by a wounded soldier in Gizamalukes Grotto. Opens the door to the Bell Room.
Green Stone One of the four coloured stones found on the Conde Petie mountain path.
Griffin's Heart An artifact you can bid on in the Treno Auction house during disk two.
Gulug Stone An item you retrieve after battling the Ark in Oielvert.
Holy Bell This item is found in the cavern of Gizamaluke's Grotto, and opens the left door in the Bell Room.
King of Jump Rope Thisis given to you by the skipping girls in Alexandria, after 1,000+ leaps (happy X button bashing!)
Kirman Coffee Found in Eiko's kitchen in Madain Sari.
Kupo Nut Give these to the Moogle husband in Gizmaluke's Grotto for rewards. Can be found in Lindblum in the "Vivi's shopping" ATE and if you deliver letters for the moogles.
Leo Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Libra Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Magical Fingertip A rare and expensive item you can bid on in the Treno auction house.
Master Hunter You recieve this item after the festival of the hunt in Lindblum, along with other items depending on who is victorious.
Mayor's Key Discovered in the mayors house in Dali. Used to enter the locked part of the windmill.
Memory Earring One of four rare jewels (also see: Silver Pendant, Falcon Claw, Desert Star). Given to you by Eiko in Madain Sari.
Mini-Brahne A mini figure you find in the Mayors House on his desk.
Mini-Burmecia Found in Tantalus's hideout in the Theatre District, Lindblum.
Mini-Cid The cheapest of all the items which can be bought in the Treno auction house, with a starting bid of only 500 gil. Can be bought during disk two.
Moccha Coffee Another of the (strangely) many coffee's you find on Gaia. Found in the Bohden Arch next to the Spring.
Moogle Suit A disguise used by Lowell to avert the rabid fans in Lindblum. You'll find it in a chest of drawers in the Studio near the station.
Moogle's Flute this is given to you by Mogster in the Evil Forest. Allows you to call on a Moogle anywhere on the world map.
Ophiuchus This is found at the Queens residence once you have given her all twelve of the Stellazio coins.
Pisces Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Protection Bell You find this item under a bed in Burmecia.
Rat Tail This item can be bid apon in the Treno Auction house during disk three.
Red Stone One of the four coloured stones found on the Conde Petie mountain path.
Sagittarius Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Scorpio Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Strange Potion Another ingrediant for the supposed "cure" to Cids problem. Found in the studio in the Theatre District.
Supersoft This item is given to you by Doctor Tot in his tower in Treno.
Taurus Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Ticket A ticket to the play in Alexandria, given to Vivi when you play him in the first part of the game. Sadly, turns out to be a forgery.
Une's Mirror A rare item which can be bid apon in the Treno Auction house on disc two.
Unusual Potion This is given to you in the Theatre Avenue by Cinna. Another part of Cids "cure."
Virgo Give this item to Queen Stella for a reward. There are 12 Stellazio coins in all.
Water Mirror An item recovered from a wall in Ipsens Castle. One of the four mirrors used to open the seal to Terra. See also Fire Mirror, Wind Mirror and Earth Mirror.

World Map A key item given to you by Regent Cid before you leave Lindblum in disk two.
