Hi guys, I'm thinking about getting FFI & II for the PSP and I was wondering whether or not they are worth it.

Never played the originals so can could you give me some advice on this please.

In a word, no. You much better off buying either the PS 'Origins' edition or the GBA "Dawn of Souls" edition, since it has both FFI and FFII on the same disk/cart. They cost about $15-20 for both games, compared to FFI and II Anniversary costing $30 each. The PSP version have high-resolution graphics and a new optional dungeon but that alone isn't worth paying 3-4 times the cost of the old versions.

Dude, totally! It's portable, pretty, hi-res, and has COOL cinematics and a neat-o new dungeon! GBA version strains the eyes when you're on the go. ThroneofOminous is obviously too cheap to get the PSP version. Real men get the PSP version.

No, not at all. You are much better off getting Origins or Dawn of Souls, as previously stated.

Prefferablley Dawn of Souls. Rebirth of Souls (The Special feature in Final Fantasy II Dawn of Souls) is both useless and interestingly interesting, but fun none the less. Although Final Fantasy II is just an interesting game in general.

The only difference between the Dawn of Souls version and the PSP version are that the sprites look a tad bit better.

And PSP has CG cinemas.

Edit = PS1 version suffers from aggrevatng load times for everything and the GBA version isn't as comfortable as the PSP one in terms of visibility and playing space, IMO.

I would also recommend the PSP versions especially as GAME seem to be doing them buy one get one free so you can them both for �20

CG cinematics may be all fine and all, but it still does not make up for the fact that it is the same thing.

Plus, the PSP has nothing else really playable.. because almost everything for the PSP sucks...

And load times are something we are going to have to get used to for everything.

WHAT!? i bought FF I today for �20. from gamestation...I went in GAME and they didnt have them. If they are selling them for �20 B.O.G.O.F....Well some heads are gunna roll.!!

Also, i have been playing FFI for like an hour, and it seems great, im glad i bought it.

They didn't have FF1 in my local GAME but FF2 was certainly B.O.G.O.F. on Saturday when I was in there.

Since I never had a PSP (therefore never bought I & II for PSP), I can't say.

But it's definately worth buying on Dawn of Souls for GBA. I still gotta start my Playstation ones (Origins) XD.

Cute, now apply that to every. Single. Time. You try to access the menu. I don't know about you, but I like to spend time actually playing the game instead of waiting for menus.

Thanks for the input guys. i think im gonna get them, cos i prefer the PSP to the GBA and I dont fancy having to wait for menus. Who would! Just out of interest how much CG is in it?

I've got them both for psp and i've been playing the first for around 6 hours and so far it is a great game (not played the second yet).

I got into about 7 hours, then started playing RE4. And that is where my loyalties lie at the moment. But i still think that it was great. And il continue with it..eventually..

absolutely NOT! 30 dlls EACH, just for nice cinemas, widescreen format, higher RES and one measly dungeon are not worth 30 EACH.

yeah, but buying both is a whopping 60 dollars (plus tax.. so it would be around 65 or more).
60 dollars, compared to 23 dlls, thats a lot of difference there.

Just my opinion, but I think you are better off just saving the dough, finding a good emulator, and playing it for $free$. If you decide to purchase it anyway then I would definitely go with the PS version... good luck, but I don't think you're going to like the CG content--it doesn't match the other game graphics very well from anything I've ever seen.
